Hashizawa (橋沢) is a small town based in a swamp biome.

History

The land of Hashizawa was first established in late fall of 2018 as part of a surveying tour of the far west continent. The tours intent was to find new land for settlement, potentially with the end goal of giving it to other players to foster growth in that area. Demarcations were placed at the borders of the swmap biome and several structures were built inside.

However, the area was subject to severe neglect, with little done to improve or use the territory. However, due to the large amount of unused land and lack of settlement in the area, this was considered a nonissue.

However, as time went on, the land attracted interest, especially from a small town on its far outskirts, El Lugar (now Las Vereno ), as it grew larger.

Style and design

The design of the houses are categorized into two types- original and modern. The original houses are tall, proud structures. Their bases are elevated and feature drainage systems, possibly a remnant from times when fierce storms were common. They are built around strong pillars of wood, which are legendarily strong, said to be able to withstand any force of nature. Their exteriors are thickly covered in vines, a testament to their age, and the roof of each house is slanted down to channel rain off.

The modern houses are of a different sort, built of a darker wood, and lower to the ground, fearless of any storms. They are simple but workable, with dramatic slanting angles making up the roof.

The inhabitants of the town, ancient and current, have long used agriculture to sustain themselves. Vast wheat fields to the east are well tended and bountiful. Irrigation and path systems throughout sustain the whole system.

The design of the town also demonstrates many principles of an ancient religion- one that revered the number four and its connection with squares. Many buildings, particularly the older ones, demonstrate a repeated motif of fours. However, the finer tenets of this religion have been lost to time.
