Spawn Wall is:

  • A border marking the limits of the Spawn City
  • A showcase area for the server's constructions.
  • A 701x701 square centered on the SpawnPoint.
    • Its dimensions were chosen to contain most spawn-y stuff while avoiding as much of said stuff as possible.
    • Its border is only disrupted by UngriefableTower and the NewSeattle castle, whose walls it merges with.
    • It contains arches throughout for existing roads and rail lines and boat routes to pass through.
  • A 'survival of the fittest' area for buildings.
    • The area will still be free-build, but with the obligation to design it well and maintain it if it is to remain.
  • A zone within which admins will periodically take out abandoned or unattractive or offensive buildings such as:
    • the typical newbie dirt/plank/cobble boxes.
    • creations by banned players.
    • abandoned creations.
    • heavily-griefed creations.
    • actively offensive creations.
    • to be blunt, crap.

A player who already has a house inside the spawn wall border has several choices:

  • They can fix up the construction, ensuring that it's attractive enough to warrant keeping.
  • They can tear down the construction in order to retrieve their materials.
  • They can possibly convince an admin to relocate the construction (though in most cases, if we were willing to relocate it, we'd be willing to keep it).
  • They can do nothing and an admin will eventually redesign, move, or remove the construction.

An example of a notification left by the admin team. Here, the owner of the build has the option of improving or removing their build.

A new player who wants to build has several choices:

  • They can move outside the Spawn Wall and build whatever they like on undeveloped land.
  • They can build inside the Spawn Wall in undeveloped areas so long as they build it attractively and well.
  • They can build a crappy building inside the Spawn Wall as long as they don't grief to do so and are aware that it may vanish at any time.

Think of the Spawn Wall zone as a housing development where the Homeowner's Association has a bulldozer.
