A mining village founded in the distant Frozen Northern Wastes.
History
Waterboy0048 Mining Co. was founded by Waterboy0048 soon after his arrival in Freedonia. The site was chosen due to its apparent (at that time) isolation and the large number of pigs which roamed the area. The original mineshaft was dropped down from a hill next to where Water made his first home. The first material from the mine was used to construct the wall around the inner compound. However, the early shaft had few lights and Waterboy0048's first encounter with hostile mobs came inside the mine, which caused a temporary sealing of the mineshaft until he had constructed weapons to reclaim the mine. The Reopening of the mine prompted Water's first encounter with the rulers (mods/admins) of Freedonia when they investigated. Following construction of the inner wall of the compound construction began on the second, larger home which still stands overlooking the current compound.
Community
With the completion of the inner compound Water looked out of his new holdfast and felt lonely in his frozen home. Besides the hill upon which he sat there were two other small hills close by. Then using materials from the mine, Water built a wall from his compound to the other two hills, enclosing the small valley between them. Laying down roadways through the valley Water began the founding of the village that stands there now. The first structure raised was the Meeting Hall, followed shortly there after by the Apartment Complex, Boarding Hall, Granary, Overseer's House, Blacksmith, and Overseer's Office. Plans are currently in place for other structures to be raised, but other projects have taken priority over village construction.
Current State
Much of the original purpose of the Waterboy0048 Mining Co. has been rendered obsolete by the introduction of Cobblestone Generator Technology.
Update!
New activity has been spotted by the Company following the expansion into the Southern Lands and the discovery of mesas. There is rumored to be a new branch office mining a new material.
