A Tale of Fury And Disbelief

Backstory
It started out when player's Snakyman, verydairyman, and KingServal started talking to each other. In the morning, they had decided to make an Empire. The purpose of the Empire, called "The 3rd Freedonian Empire" was to mainly combat a perceived hegemony that New Eden had. Each of the 3 founders towns were organized into a separate branch of Government. verydairyman would've gotten the judicial branch at Las Vereno, Snakyman would have gotten the Senate at Snaktown, and KingServal would have controlled the military at Socorro. After the planning of the branches, Snakyman and Dairy wanted to create a joke town near New Eden, one mocking it. They named it "Gay" and later "Soviet" Eden. After the planning of the town, Snak and Dairy got quick to work on making it. They had pre-built cobblestone houses, which looked like soviet housing blocks. They added a Gulag and a bad kremlin and Rocketship. KingServal wanted to make a military base in the harbor, but wasn't online at the time. Finally, the server started to take notice of this aggression.
In summary, the joke of the town was that they disliked New Eden, and decided to act upon it.
Community Response
They started many arguments in chat that lasted from around 18:00hrs GMT on the ingame chat on December 14th, 2019. And it ended the following day of December 15th. at around 18:00hrs GMT. Twenty Four hours of this joke and the towns existence.
Eventually Dairy and Snaky decided to build a town near New Eden. They planted the idea in chat that they would build a town in retaliation, in sight on New Eden. This town was named Gay Eden, despite it being later "renamed" to Soviet Eden.
Most online users disliked this, repeatedly telling Snaky and Dairy to stop what they were doing before it was too late. Even one of Snaky's closest server ally, KingServal advised this was a bad idea, and that they had gone "too far". But Snaky progressed anyways, building many stone boxes and a small port to the town.
Every time Snaky or Dairy was active during these fateful 24hrs, they were bombarded with countless players warning them not to do it.
And then the consequences occurred.
When Snaky became active almost 24 hours after this joke started, he was again bombarded with people telling him to stop. He decided to sell Gay Eden to 
Eclypto18, the owner of New Eden. The Price came to 1 Diamond Block. Snaky instead committed Extortion. He constantly made threats whilst trying to force Eclypto to pay in order to solve this. All whilst saying that he needed Dairy, Gay Eden's co-founder, to accept these terms.
However, during this entire mess Dairy made no signs of being active.
Obviously, Eclypto took this to be Blackmail, and refused to pay.

It was Snaky all on his own against all the players and staff that were active at the time.
Banning
However, things didn't go according to plan...
When 
FlyingJellyfish came online, she announced that Snaky had committed no less than 3 acts of grief in the construction of Gay Eden. </ br>
The three griefs were:
1. The Blocking of a players build. (snakyman note: it was built to make boundaries so that we did not block it)
2. Placing a block next to a torch (was believed to be a torch built by an ally.
3. Blockading a the harbor (this reason was completely not grief, and was actually just a joke made by snakyman but before he could explain that, his wifi crashed)
Finally, due to snakyman being absent because his wifi stopped working, Jelly made the final decision that Snaky had committed enough grief. And was promptly banned.
Aftermath
The Aftermath of Snaky's Ban is simple. Snaky continued doing what he was widely known for: Denying and Blaming Others for his mistakes. This continued the argument long after he was banned, until he eventually blamed his "depression". Many players thought that he was still making things up. Eventually, he realised that as of the current moment he had no chance of getting an appeal to be accepted with all the players like this. Snaky decided to stop arguing and went silent.

be pretty funny. Plans were to build a 7x7 block of block houses and a hole in which you had to dig in order to keep your house. Poking fun at how you had to pay diamonds in order to buy a rebuilt
house in NE. The name Gay Eden was thought of by snaky to follow along the line of similar projects such as Gayton. The area was chosen because of it's location near NE and because it was flat.
The area already had a prebuilt house but I meant to build south of it. Though as I was building the houses far away from the house, snaky ended up building the hole, farms, and storage on the
other side of the house. After building the road between the two areas, we had called wulf over to see if it was grief. He said no. I built sickle and hammers, rocket ship, and a gulag to make it
more Soviet. Snaky had built a "blockade",(sticks in the water) and a sign reading to "stay away capitalist fuckers" or something. The real kicker is the fact that snaky built in land eclypto
had claimed. This is what I agree is bannable. Beside that, I see no issue with the town." >

A Snakyman Ally Speaks Up

Snakyman was a good friend of mine, we had a lot of fun together during my early days on the server. making highways like Route 69, and founding the Freedonia Road Co.. But I don't know what happened to him. We used to be aggressive, constantly killing and raiding towns. But then I stopped and he continued. And yesterday, it culminated into a massive event. We tried to make an empire to balance power in Freedonia, unknowing what will happen in the next 24 hours. I personally didn't support the idea of a town, I believed it was going too far and that we should just make a small outpost or military base somewhere on the shore. All I can say is that bad decisions were made, and I hope everyone can learn from them and not repeat them.
A Snakyman Enemy Speaks Up

I, personally, do not like Snaky. There is no point in me denying that.
Every interaction that I've had to have with him has, unfortunately, ended in increasing tensions between us. The first time we ever met he stole my horse. Then he killed that horse, waged war on Crown's Landing when he was kicked out of it, Attacked New Eden and now this. In short I'd realised from the moment Snaky and Dairy decided on creating a town near New Eden that it wouldn't end on a positive note.
Personally, I did not like his "joke" of Gay Eden that he played on the server. Sure it might have, at least to him, a meaningless joke or prank. But his popularity and history meant that it ended up backfiring with terrible consequences.
Personally, I am entirely against snaky but there's no denying that it all came down to his "popularity".
Let me explain...
Back in the days of when 1Posa1, Snaky was a bad player. But some players thought that he was good. After Posa was banned, however. Things changed. He disappeared for a long time and upon his return his general behaviour has been noted to have changed. He seemed slightly more aggressive, but was otherwise the same. But, as some players have told me, he has definitely changed recently.
Upon interviewing players for their opinions on Snaky's Ban. Boxzy told me this:

In short, it has been noted by many that Snaky's behaviour had recently deteriorated. Such as when Snaky and the player 
_WizardDev_ got into an argument. Of which lead Snaky to attack four weeks ago (as of writing this) on November 17th 2019. I myself was there and recorded a video on the attack: .
It occurred to me that his behaviour was worsening, and I knew that he would do something to step over the line.
But never did I think that he would commit to the events that have occurred with Soviet Eden. I saw him as a bad guy sure, and after waging war on Crown's Landing this hadn't really surprised me. But the fact that things got this bad surprised everyone. From me to his followers (like KingServal).
Sure when the time came when FlyingJellyfish confronted snaky myself and others delighted in this. And the icing on the cake was his ban.
But then I started to think.
At first my thoughts turned to how, even if Snaky met his appeal, many on the player's would not like him. And thus, in a way, he'd be an outlaw. Tensions so high that snaky would be isolated from almost everyone for what he did.
And then, realising how biased this wiki page was bound to be, I asked WaffleNomster if I could make it. I knew that it was impossible, so soon after these events, for this page to not be biased. So I tried to make it as unbiased as possible, getting snakys friend KingServal, to bring some positive mentions onto this page. Though admittedly I don't think that I succeeded well enough.
It was during my interviewing stage, getting the opinion's of the entire situation, that I interviewed 1Posa1. Of whom accepted to give a comment.
After I had interviewed Posa we got to talking. Instead of being negative as I had expected, however, Posa was positive. He thought that the thing to blame that when it all came down to banning a player it was really all a "Popularity Contest". And I agree.
Whenever a player is banned, the popularity of the player itself seems to have a great impact. And I'm speaking from personal experience.
When I first was almost banned, nobody wanted me banned and I wasn't. Then when I was banned my appeal was met. I've generally been seen as a positive player on the server.
And there's further evidence of this when it comes down to Snakys own history. In the past when he was popular he caused a scene that is extremely similar to Soviet Eden, Gayetria.
Personally, I do feel that popularity does have a big influence on the server.
And whilst I am, at least on a personal level, happy to see the end of Snaky on the server. I can't help but hope that, if his claims of having depression are to be believed, that he'll take this opportunity as a wake up call. Fine some help and to get better.
I don't want Snaky, around, but if his claims are true then I wish him luck on his path to recovery.
I known that I've been going on a bit here so this is where I'm ending it.
I hope that others will take this as a lesson that when it comes to jokes, if everyone is screaming at you to stop, then maybe you shouldn't continue doing this. Snaky probably did mean this as a joke, but it backfired disastrously.
Though I dislike him, I wish him luck if he ever choses to become a better person. And he is a clear example to all that living in a state of constant denial and forcing the blame onto others is not going to end well for you.
I just wish him luck on becoming a better person.
