A reputation cookie or "rep cookie" is a delicacy local to Freedonia. To obtain one, someone must deem you worthy and type /goodrep followed by your name in the in-game global chat. If you are online at the time, a reputation cookie will fall on your head, as if by magic.

As a collectible item

Rep cookies are widely considered as unique and therefore collectible items. Each rep cookie comes with a description unique to the recipient, for example: "A positive reputation cookie for SlowRiot". The unique description of a rep cookie often determines it's value, regardless of how many cookies exist with the same description. A good example of this would be cookies given to getplayerhead.sh?Anna_28&16.png Anna_28, the player with the highest reputation in Freedonia. While many getplayerhead.sh?Anna_28&16.png Anna_28 rep cookies exist, the circulation of those cookies is low, and the desirability; quite high.

Eating a reputation cookie

Like golden apples, rep cookies grant the player a magic effect when consumed, though they require a player to be hungry in order to do so. Eating a rep cookie grants the player 2 hunger points with a saturation of 0.2 and the Absorption III status effect for two minutes. Because of the rarity of rep cookies it is usually considered uncouth to eat them in any situation that isn't life-threatening with grave consequences.

Yield: 4 dozen

Ingredients:

1 cup granulated sugar (1c)

½ cup butter (½c)

1 egg

2 Tablespoon milk (2T)

½ teaspoon vanilla (½t)

2 ¼ cup flour

2 teaspoon baking powder (2t)

¼ teaspoon salt (¼t)

1 bottle of yellow food coloring (1-3 drops)

(DO NOT FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, USE ALL OF THE DAMN BOTTLE OF FOOD COLORING. PLEASE.)

Latex gloves (optional for if you don’t want to stain your hands piss yellow with the food coloring)

½ cup chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips (1 or ⅓ cup also works if you want to be risky. It depends.)

Day I:

Directions:

  1. With the paddle attachment, cream sugar and butter until light and fluffy. (2 minutes)
  2. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat until combined.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture; beat until a soft dough forms.
  4. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface.
  5. Using the yellow food coloring, tint the dough yellow (or golden-yellow).
  6. Incorporate the chocolate chips into the dough. (MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT OVER DO IT OR YOUR COOKIES MAY BE HARD!)
  7. Gently roll dough to form a 10-inch log. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
  8. Wrap the dough in parchment paper, then plastic wrap, label and refrigerate until firm.

Day II:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Slice the log into ¼ inch thick slices, turning as you slice to not smash/flatten the cookies.
  3. Arrange on baking sheets (lined with parchment paper) 2 inches apart. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  4. Wait for them to cool before enjoying them!

(If you wanted to really make this cookie sugary, you could take the dough and roll it in some gold colored sugar before you bake!)
