Northport is the gateway to the western mainland from Luna Bay. It is a village with a port for small ships, and serves as the entry point for the Mawu Highway.

History

In the waning years of Project MOON's reconstruction efforts, many settlements sprung up to help establish more permanent borders for the region. Originally home to a small lighthouse and keeper, Northport was settled by eastbound caravans who used the land to trade with both Western Waters Shipping Co. and on occasion the Caretakers of MOON. It was named after the Northshore Lighthouse located on Point Novus. Eventually, the lightkeeper offered up the land and the settlement was formally founded. A wall was constructed to border the western mainland and also hold up the small mountain from collapsing onto the newly terraced land.

While under construction, efforts were made to begin properly connecting the distant village and its neighboring settlements such as 44Town to the metropolitan western district past Las Vereno. This foundation would later become the Mawu Highway.

Despite not seeing much direct traffic, Northport is a local favorite much like its cousin Eastport for people who enjoy the small city life. It is still very much a pit stop for travelers on their way to the big city of Project MOON, but the small loyal families responsible for it's creation have developed a unique culture and happily serve the special role of connecting the land and sea together.

Features

  • Northport Town Hall: The main hall for the town. Serves as a meeting hall and lounge for residents and visitors alike.
  • Northport Library: Local information and history are kept on display in this richly dense building.
  • Westbound Tavern: Small tavern serving drinks and meals to arrivals. Named after it's most common visitors, it contains a diverse, if small, selection of Western Waters products.
  • Edward's General Goods: A local general goods store operated by the local resident Edward Eubank.
  • Northport Storage Shed: Communal storage building for materials and unwanted belongings.
  • Northport Village Dorm: Dormitory where most of the residents sleep, a carryover from the caravan days where most people were comfortable sleeping in close proximity.
  • Trawler's Fish Market: A small fish meat market operated by a pair of local fishermen.
  • Project MOON Embassy: Given the close relation and ties to it's eastern neighbor, this embassy gives the Caretakers of MOON an outpost on the edge of the mainland.
  • Mawu Highway Gateway: An open building that connects through the border wall and toward the Mawu Highway
  • Port Novus: The similarly named Port Novus is the handful of docks stretching outward from the eastern waterfront.
