A peacekeeping organization, the Freedonian Treaty Organization (FTO) is an "active pacifism" model of faction. This model seeks to de-escalate conflict with diplomacy and deter attackers with shows of force.

Below is the original treaty, of which outlines the main objectives and modus operandi behind the peacekeepers and the organization as a whole.

The Freedonian Treaty

Preamble: All states and persons who join the FTO cause, and/or any of the nations therein are subject to the articles, and by joining affirm their dedication to the cause. Those who join are expected to uphold the standard of peace, self defense, and mutual aid when it is required of them. There is no such thing as exemption from the policies below.

Article I: Those who join will be expected to have all dealings conducted peacefully, including discussions of high emotional charge. War should be treated as a last resort, and trolling is acceptable on a minor level (e.g., non-sustained boating attacks or chicken egg trolling). The spirit is to avoid any conflict, to tend towards diplomacy rather than confrontation.

Article II: To achieve the goals of this treaty, the parties involved will develop their capacity to deal with threats, as well as their own infrastructure, with voluntary support from another member state. The mediums in which FTO business is conducted (e.g., Discord, Minecraft Online, etc.) will also serve the dual function of a platform to solicit aid in construction or funding. Member nations are urged to answer these requests, should they be able.

Article III: Should any member state consider a sustained threat to their stability or security, a meeting should be held in order to discuss the nature of the threats presented. During this, diplomacy will be sought out in order to avoid escalation of conflict. Should a member state currently be under attack, or should the council decide that the sustained threat will not be nullified by diplomatic measures, Article IV shall be employed.

Article IV: In the event of an attack or unavoidable sustained threat, all available FTO peacekeepers are to immediately deploy. Peacekeepers are to remain until the threat is deemed inactive or negligible. any means necessary to keep the peace are authorized, as long as they do not infringe upon the rules of MCO.
