FHS Staff Guidelines

Ever since its founding in 2022, the Freedonian Historical Society has been dedicated to preserving all aspects of MCO's rich culture and history, as well as providing a bastion of true free speech for the wider community within our Discord server. As of 2025, the Historical Society has become one of the largest active organizations on the server (if not the largest). As such, it is imperative that members of the FHS staff team abide by our 'employee guidelines', as they serve to keep the historical community together & trusting of our organization.

Rules

  • MCO staff (either current or former) are not permitted to join the FHS staff team, although they're more than welcome to participate as members of the organization. Bootlickers or those otherwise closely aligned with MCO staff will not be considered for application either (xmaragd for example).
  • FHS staff members must never compromise an artifact of any nature by reporting it to the MCO staff team, regardless of the owner or any potentially illegal origins they may have. The Historical Society is here to help others preserve, not earn admin brownie points.
  • Staff members are always expected to keep the interests of the archival community at heart, and are expected to actively contribute to/aid other historians when needed (even if they aren't aligned with the FHS)
  • Staff may be subject to immediate termination if they are found to have leaked information from any private channels to any non-FHS staff source.
  • MCO's rules do *not* apply within our Discord server, and banned players are welcome in our community regardless of any kind of beef they might have with the administration. (Unless they're a creep or disrupting historical preservation work)

While this list may be interpreted to suggest otherwise, the Freedonian Historical Society has no issues with the MCO staff team. The reason behind our exclusion of them from the ranks of our leadership simply boils down to a conflict of interest. As a group based entirely on preservation, members of our team are expected to put those interests above the responsibilities & expectations of MCO staff. We may not be breaking any rules ourselves (nor should you), but it's not our place to oust rulebreakers who might be in our community, just leave the moderation to the moderators.
