Ice Golf is a minigame wherein one aims to throw an item into a goal on a slippery ice course. Ratrun took the basic idea for the game from the Crazy Golf built by Stampy in his Lovey World and decided to build a unique course.
Rules
Each hole starts with a log: you must make your first shot while standing on that log. Subsequent shots start usually start where your item stops.
The 'hole' is marked by a pressure plate. You beat the hole by having your item trigger the pressure plate without it sliding off.
Each hole has a par rating for how many shots you should take to beat the hole. Your score for the hole equals how many shots it took you beat it minus the par value. Names for some scores are given below:
Score | Name |
---|---|
+3 | Triple bogey |
+2 | Double bogey |
+1 | Bogey |
0 | Par |
-1 | Birdie |
-2 | Eagle |
Lower scores are better. Your score for the course is the sum of your score on each hole.
Penalties
If your item either:
- slips onto and stops on something other than ice or the pressure plate.
- slips into the water,
you must pick your item up and try again from where your last shot started. You must also add a stroke to your score on top of the shot you took. For example, if you throw your item into the water on your second shot, you must take what is now your fourth shot from where you took your second.
Tips
Items slide on the ice quite a bit. Account for this lest it overshoot. However, items slow significantly on ledges and can stop when slowly sliding.
The angle of your shot has a major impact on its trajectory. A steep up or down angle makes the item slower than a more direct shot. Thus, a steep downwards shot can be used for positioning or for landing on a nearby pressure plate. Conversely, a steep upwards throw can cause the ball to travel less than a shallower one.
Throwing your item upwards allows to ball to be thrown over gaps. Throwing at the peak of a jump gives more height and distance. Use this to allow steeper shots that slide less.

Ratrun's snow-themed, 18-hole course. To avoid issues with snowfall and water freezing, it was built just outside of a snowy taiga.
