While planning his builds getplayerhead.sh?Marmo_D&16.png Marmo_D felt the need to make multiple as faithful as possible replicas of the long gone Nether Reactor, but some of the blocks he needed were only added and removed from Minecraft Pocket Edition, now known as Bedrock Edition; so instead of using odd blocks with similar colors or using a resource pack, he decided to build the map pixel art of the 4 missing textures.

The maps may not look identical to the source image since both the game and the online tools to convert images into maps have their own limitations..

Thanks to these maps every player on the server can have the opportunity to build and see a replica of the nether reactor without the need of modify their game.

Building Process

The first mission was to find the official original textures of the blocks when they were first added, after a brief documentation through the Minecraft Wiki the textures were found in the terrain.png file, witch was extracted from an old and official Minecraft version. Thanks to the tools online setting up the final schematic to use on the server. The building style chosen was the staircase to achieve a more complete color palette and the materials chosen were both hard to grief and hard to get, expecially the redstone blocks that were later changed with lava for sanity. To prevent lava from flowing glass was chosen to encase it. During the building process of the "Initialized Nether Reactor Core", the third map of the group built after the "normal" and "finished" cores, lava wouldn't render on the map after placement, witch caused the substitution of 6464 blocks of glass with stone. Despite the issues, pauses and burns the map was eventually finished.
