The Heruvian Interstate Project was a project started by getplayerhead.sh?George_Mann&16.png George_Mann aimed at connecting Freedonia through a network of raised roadways of greater quality and cohesiveness than the current highways. The project was infamous due to its large, unattractive roadways that often cut into other players builds, and several portions of the roadways were either removed or turned into art pieces by other players. The project has since become inactive due to getplayerhead.sh?George_Mann&16.png George_Mann getting banned.

This network of controlled-access highways were meant to connect Freedonia and intends to provide travelers with safety, through its raised roadways avoiding most mobs, and its single y-level (outside of interchanges) offering ease and efficiency in travel, friendliness to boats, and possible future conversion to ice highways.

If anyone wishes to start a new line, please contact getplayerhead.sh?George_Mann&16.png George_Mann and add their line to this page. They can retain ownership of their line, given the settlement on their wiki page is listed as Heruvian Federation, along with whatever settlement it is affiliated with (if applicable)

Your rights as a player/essential building information

For all intents and purposes, the Heruvian Interstate Project is a free build. The below is further clarification and justification for any action taken towards builds alongside the highway.

The Heruvian Federation retains the rights to:

  • The Highway, its walkways, and the pillars supporting it
  • The land immediately surrounding the highways, granted said land has not been modified prior to a highway's construction
  • Any builds constructed that directly interact with the highway (i.e, billboards, connecting roads, parking lots, light fixtures, vehicles, etc)
  • Restore any modification that it deems "substandard" (If such substandard modifications fit the aesthetic of the area, no action will be taken)
  • Restore any modification if said modification was not completed within a reasonable timeframe

ALL PLAYERS CAN WITHOUT EXPLICIT PERMISSION:

  • Build adjacent to the highway/its pillars
  • Build directly below the highway/its pillars
  • Build above the highway, given it's at least 4 blocks above the walkway
  • Build vehicles on the walkway (Although this is not recommended)
  • Modify the highway in any way to fit a build aesthetic (i.e, changing segments to an aqueduct to fit a medieval style)
  • Modify the highway in any way to reroute it when necessary (as long as the reroute is not unnecessarily long)
  • Claim co-ownership (build rights) and management rights over sections of highway that have been modified
  • Claim co-ownership (build rights) and management rights over sections of highway that run through builds/towns/etc
  • Place blocks that do not inhibit movement of entities (i.e, signs, buttons, banners, torches, etc)

Reasons for modification include and are not limited to:

  • Billboards/other advertising
  • Documentation/road designation (i.e FUSS)
  • Man-Made tunnels
  • Settlements being constructed in or around a highway
  • Player bases (this does not include noob bases)
  • road/rail/ice highway/canal infrastructure

Rules, and things to keep in mind

  • Individual routes shall stay on the same y level.
  • Routes are to be built from smooth stone slabs (exceptions can be made, inquire getplayerhead.sh?George_Mann&16.png George_Mann for info)
  • Support columns shall either be two 2x2 wide pillars located in the center of each lane or 3x3 wide located at the center of the highway.
  • Absolutely no 90 degree turns. If a 90 degree turn is unavoidable, reroute the construction and circumvent the area.
  • Routes shall be located on y levels equivalent to multiples of six, starting from y=80 and being No Higher than y=120. (i.e, 80, 86, 82 ,98, 104...)
    • Amendment: The use of y=80 has been retired for highways primarily crossing over land.
  • Branches shall be located on y levels equivalent to multiples of 5, ending at 80. (i.e, 80, 75, 70, 65...) A branch is a route that originates from a continuous route and ends at a POI and is generally shorter than a main route.
  • No two routes shall be located on the same y level, unless they are located on differing quadrants of the map. Exceptions can be made.
  • If two or more routes intersect an interchange is encouraged, but not required.
  • Avoid messy multi-route interchanges unless you are a civil engineer. (If you take it upon yourself to build one, you are responsible for completing it properly.)
  • Any additions, such as lighting fixtures, should be applied uniformly across a route.
