History
The original TU11 Castle was designed by 4J Studios as the centerpiece of the Title Update 11 (TU11) Tutorial World, which was released for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition on 10 May 2013. The tutorial world introduced players to many of the features added in TU11 while encouraging exploration through a large, handcrafted environment centered around the castle.
Following the popularity of the tutorial world, the castle became one of the most recognizable landmarks in the history of Minecraft: Legacy Console Edition. It is widely remembered by players as one of the defining structures of the console-era tutorial worlds and has since been recreated numerous times by members of the Minecraft community as part of preservation and nostalgia projects.
The MinecraftOnline replica was started by LogolWaffle on 20 April 2025 in the town of Albany with the goal of accurately reproducing the original structure at a 1:1 scale. Construction was completed on 15 May 2026, with a majority of the build and resources being provided by BuffaloBom. The replica preserves the original layout and appearance of the TU11 Castle while allowing visitors to experience one of the most iconic builds from Minecraft's Legacy Console Edition.
