Town spamming
Overview
Town spamming is considered a unique playstyle focused on creating as many towns as possible simply because it is fun. A town spammer must be responsible for the creation of every town they control, either by founding the town themselves or by organizing another player to found it before transferring ownership to them.
Town spamming is not the same as an Empire. While an empire consists of multiple players or settlements working together under one government, town spamming is centered around a single player's ownership of many towns.
History
The phrase town spamming originated during recruitment for the Springfield Project. During the project, Opuf12 announced that he was looking for players to create towns and transfer ownership of them to him.
After seeing this, ComradeAglarion asked administrator Maurermz:
Is town spamming allowed?
Maurermz reportedly responded:
What?
As Maurermz had never heard the phrase before, this exchange is regarded as the first recorded use of the term town spamming, with ComradeAglarion coining the phrase.
