/wilderness is a server command that teleports you to a random spot on the map. Its purpose is to bring you into areas where no player activity has been made so you can get basic resources or mine.
The command prevents you from being put into some areas like the big oceans of the world, lava, void and any player homes or wiki pages with coordinates on them. But sometimes it may still teleport you to something player made, even a large map art -- only specific known coordinates are avoided.
This command has a Cooldown period of 12 hours. If you are a new player using this command, it is recommended to use /sethome soon after /wilderness, so that you can return in case you die or get lost.
