Disclamer
This monument should be interpreted as a Dada work of art, heavily inspired by the "Readymades" by Marcel Duchamp, which are ordinary objects modified by the artist, even if just rotated like Fountain, and repurposed as works of art.
Explanation and meaning of the monument
This monument is a floating and rotated by 90° replica of the Old Visitor Centre in its latest revision before being substituted with the current one. The reproduction is as faithful as possible despite the odd block placement, the only difference being that the signs that are all emptied of their original text. The name of this monument is intended to represent past memories that people, often driven by nostalgia, tend to narrate by adding events that didn't happen or change for the better and glorify past events that might have been actually worse than they say; repeating and convincing themselves of these modified narrations of their past leads to an alteration of the memories while the true original ones slowly fade away.
The reason the old visitor centre was chosen is because it's probably the most copied build on the server and it's done mostly built by people driven by nostalgia, and the reason it's floating is to symbolise the memory slowly fading away as time passes, represented by the gap from the main terrain.
How it came to be:
This build was originally commissioned by VexnoTheFox after he asked Marmo_D to contribute with any build in Lagville, thanks to the creative requirements to build anything with creativity within the city the concept of this monument was chosen born as an idea. Without the explanation, this build could be interpreted as funny, which fits the city theme.
