Catalonia (or Catalunya) is a town currently under construction near to the northern-right border (the old south-west). It was founded by getplayerhead.sh?Nilbros&16.png Nilbros on the January 3rd, 2019, with the idea of creating a new village based on a typical Catalan town.

The Catalan peninsula is located near the world border.

History and origin

After a few hours playing on the server, getplayerhead.sh?Nilbros&16.png Nilbros started to look for a suitable place to build himself a house. However, he found a peninsula close to the north-east section of the world border. There he settled down and started planning a town in order to play with friends and to create a comunity to cooperate.

The 1-block border wall in front of the northern coast of the Horn's Cape (Punta de la Banya).

The first thing to be built was a 1-block border wall in order to delimite the limits the town will have once finished, preventing it from being griefed. Nonetheless, it will be removed as soon as it is urbanistically delimited or finished.

It's name comes from Catalonia, which is a southern-Europe region bathed by the Mediterranean sea.

Urbanism

As explanied before, Catalonia is based on a typical Catalan coastal town. However, it was adapted to the local geography in order to be more enjoyable.

Every name, sign and message is written both in English and Catalan, either in the same sign or on another. If they are on the same one, the catalan name goes at the top and the English at the bottom .If they are on different sign, the Catalan name goes on the right side and the English on the left side.

The town is based arround a main street and a maritime avenue, with other surrounding streets all over the land. Every street except from bridges and tunnels has a reserved flat land space suitable for building on it. The streets in Catalonia are: (street list is updated as it the town is being built)

Catalan States Avenue (Avinguda dels Països Catalans) : It is the main street of the town, which goes from side to side of it.

The Western Catalan Bridge (El Pont Català de l'Oest) : This bridge connects Catalonia with the western lands of the bay by a strait. It is one of the most important infrastructures on the town.

Cape of the Horn Beach (Platja de la Punta de la Banya) : The western cape and beach receives its name from its form, which resembles a horn.

Pirenees Ride (Passeig dels Pirineus) : It is the main acces to the Pirenees (Pirineus) zone, going by the Pedraforca mountain. It also has a long western beach.

Horn to the Mount Bridge (Pont de la Banya a la Muntanya) : This bridge is held on the Pirenees Ride (Passeig dels Pirineus) street, which helps to comunicate the sea-level beach to the high-land Pirenees (Pirineus) mountains.

Relevant Places

Catalonia has lots of interesting places to visit and to admire. The main attractions are:

— The Western Catalan Bridge (El Pont Català de l'Oest)

This bridge (now under consent and construction) will comunicate both sides of the bay from the west side of the town. It will follow the path of the Catalan States Avenue (Avinguda dels Països Catalans).

The Western Catalan Bridge under primary stages of construction on January 17th, 2019.

— Pirenees (Pirineus)

The Pirenees is the northern region or area of Catalonia, which contains few high mountains and a big plain and a bay between them.

This zone is known for its high mountains.

— Pedraforca

In the Pirenees (Pirineus) area of the town is found the highest mountain, called Pedaforca. At its top all the town is visible, so it is a popular place to take a look at the surroundings.
