The climboff started as a challenge for players on June 29th 2023. It saw multiple players climb up Mt Mosasaur via "The Monster", a climbing route made by Clomik.
The Event
Everybody who signs up to climb stands on the prize pile. This pile can have prizes added to it by climbers while they are waiting as a sort of betting pool. Prize is a minimum of 20 diamond blocks always. When the event coordinator yells "GO!!!!" in chat everybody begins to climb up The Monster to the peak of Mount Mosasaur. When the winner reaches the top everybody descends to the bottom and has a choice to climb for second place.
The second place climb on the spine begins the same way as the original with a couple of differences. Climbers now stand on a tiny platform that overlooks the Dernal Valley and are climbing for a lesser reward. First climber to reach the top (excluding the champion) wins. The winners collect their prizes and everybody is free to do whatever afterwards.
The events are streamed on occasion, usually by Clomik who provides commentary. If nobody reaches the top in 41 minutes the player closest to the top wins by default.
