With an exterior inspired primarily by the radiolarian Hexaconus (=Hexacolpus?) nivalis Haeckel 1887, this tower in Phoenix Isles incorporates various aspects of this organic form into its structure.

Exterior

The influence of Hexaconus on the exterior design becomes increasingly apparent with height:

  • The lowest layer, for the most part, has the style of a generic residential tower. The only reference to Radiolaria is the presence of parallel ridges running up its sides, a pattern which is repeated on the top layer (though here the ridges are not as smooth as the ones towards the top - these were based on the sheath ridges of H. serratus)
  • The middle layer draws more inspiration from H. nivalis, and is loosely inspired by its pitted shell.
  • The top layer is based heavily on a single sheathed spicule of H. nivalis, with smooth rather than serrated ridges.

A key difference between this build and Hexaconus is the reliance on squares and octagons instead of hexagons and dodecagons in plan view. Thus, the building fits better into the world of Minecraft (rather than the real world).

Apartment Rules

Definitions
  • "The owner" is the individual who has full rights to every part of the building, including anything not built by them. Currently, this is Microcosms.
  • "The player" or "a player" is any player whose name is on a sign placed above or immediately beside a permitted door. A player cannot overwrite the signs of other players and can only own one apartment. By placing this sign, the player agrees to the rules outlined below.
  • The definition of "permitted doors" depends on the floor number:
    • Floors one to six (inclusive): Any single door
    • Floors seven to ten (inclusive): Any set of 2 doors on a single floor (each apartment has two doors)
Rules
  1. The player has permissions to add to their apartment, but not to permanently destroy any block not placed by the player.
  2. The player, and not the owner, is responsible for anything they place within their apartment. Apartments are provided in good faith, with the expectation that they will not be used to push any political, business or diplomatic agenda.
  3. No harmful or offensive structures may be built inside the player's apartment, including but not limited to: political symbols and lag machines. This rule is meant to be in line with server policy, and any actions arising from this rule will generally be taken by admins.
  4. The owner of this building reserves the right to remove or add to any structures within apartments without this action being classified as grief. However, the owner will not police the contents of any player's apartment.
  5. Blocks may be removed for the duration of stay or or by accident as long as those blocks do not affect another player's apartment (e.g. do not remove blocks from the floor, ceiling or walls separating apartments) and the removed blocks are replaced prior to the player returning ownership of their apartment.
  6. There are no limits on how long a player can own an apartment, but it is requested that if the player plans on leaving MinecraftOnline forever, then they return the room to its original state and return ownership by removing their sign at the door of their apartment.
  7. If a player is permanently banned, the ownership of their room and its contents will be returned to the owner.
  8. Under current ownership (by Microcosms), there are no obligations for a player to provide payment for their residency.
  9. The owner may change these rules at any time.
