Mixcoatl
Mixcoatl is the ancestral god of hunting in the collective mythology of the Nahua peoples of central Mexico. He has dominion over animals, fire, stars, and night, and is associated with warfare, community, and hereditary kingship. He was especially revered by the Tlaxcaltecas and nomadic Chichimecas under the name Camaxtli, and by the (non-Nahua) Otomí peoples.
While I'm clearly no "lord" and never do any "hunting" I do strongly prefer to play Archer-, Ranger-, or Hunter-type classes in online games. I've taken this moniker to represent that preference.
Pronunciation
In American Dictionary Notation, Mixcoatl is pronounced mēsh-'kōō-hwäät. This is a word of Classical Nahuatl origin formed from two dependent nouns, mixtli, meaning cloud, and coatl, meaning serpent. This name alludes to Mixcoatl as the Milky Way, imagined by the Ancient Nahuas as a misty serpent undulating across the night sky.
