Winterchinko is a Pigchinko arena featuring a winter-themed variation of the game. It is located within Nore (City of Ruins), a frozen, apocalyptic cityscape, and is the first arena to use a circular board layout since the creation of Pigchinko Dome.
Construction began in late 2020; however, development was delayed to due performance issues in Minecraft 1.7.10 and a restricted block palette. The arena was ultimately completed in early 2026.
The arena is primarily composed of packed ice, introducing a new mechanic that allows pigs to slide across the surface and into the point holes. Future plans include the addition of blue ice to increase slipperiness once the block becomes available.
Scoring
Due to Winterchinko's circular layout, the arena introduces a new point-hole color: magenta. This hole awards the highest possible amount of points, as it appears only four times and is positioned in areas where pigs are least likely to wander to.
