This full-size model of the Airship LZ7 "Deutschland" floats high above Bastiansdorf, offering its passengers a stunning view of Festung Hohenfischberg.
The original LZ7 was built in the year 1910 in Friedrichshafen, Germany as a commercial passenger airship. It was 148m long and the hull had a diameter of 14m. The airship was powered by three 120hp engines, one in the front nacelle and two in the rear nacelle. The central cabin seated 24 passengers.
On June 28 1910, only seven days after its maiden voyage, the LZ7 crashed after engine failure in bad weather not far from nosefish's home town. The airship was lost, but all passengers escaped unscathed and only one crew member sustained minor injuries.
