History
New Dublin was founded on May 15, 2015 by copbot1001. The settlement was named after Dublin, the capital of Ireland, in honor of copbot1001's Irish heritage.
The settlement became a Server Union possession on May 19, 2015.
The city's first mayor was copbot1001 who was replaced by Warjason10 on July 21, 2016.
Geography
New Dublin is just outside of the 10km radius of the original map and is directly South of Spawn. The city is built on a Plains biome next to a small Ocean biome formed by chunk glitches. The city is situated due West from Anna's Forest across the brocean ocean. New Dublin has three sources of water. The ocean that surrounds it on two sides, a small river to the South, and many underground and above water pools. The landscape of the city has been altered in order to create flat space for buildings. The city extends both the the North and to the West to include several Server Union military installations.
Landmarks
The city has several landmark buildings. The largest and most prominent is the Municipal Building. The Municipal building is located in the center of the city and contains both local and federal government offices. The next most prominent landmark is the Watchtower located at the Northeastern point of the city. The Watchtower was the first build of the city made by copbot1001. The Watchtower overlooks much of the city and is located near the end of New Dublin's boat line. Just a short walk from the Municipal Building is the Salty Seaman Irish Pub and Grill. The Pub is the main gathering place for the city. Across from the pub is Terraformer Stadium. Terraformer Stadium is a minecraft box lacrosse stadium and home to the New Dublin Irishmen. The stadium is the second oldest build. A short distance from the stadium is the New Dublin Station. This connects New Dublin to the Freedonia Railway System.
Minecraft Lacrosse
The City of New Dublin is home to an in ground box-lacrosse field known as Terraformer Stadium. The playing field is only 252 square meters (12 x 21 meters)and is built to the standards set by the Server Union Box Lacrosse Association (SUBLA). Minecraft Lacrosse started on the server of Crafting Universe as full field lacrosse. However, a scaled field is 110 meters long and 55 meters wide making it too large for a game. For this a common indoor version of lacrosse was transferred into Minecraft with modified rules. The City of New Dublin is home to the New Dublin Irishmen whose colors are Green and Orange.
