The Floating Pyramid was one of Freedonia's earliest megaprojects, built by Riot and his friends possibly in 2010 year. This build existed near Spawn at x=-31, y=102, z=143 till spawn clean out in February 2021, when it was moved to 9384 -9446.
History
Built by hand out of cobble, constructing the mid-air scaffolding took as long as the remainder of the construction.
At this point in Minecraft's history, fall damage was enabled and invincibility was not available even to admins, so building such an object in mid-air required a great deal of care.
The intention has always been to keep the interior dark. Occasionally bugs in the renderer cause the far walls of the pyramid's interior to appear to shimmer in a star-like fashion, and this is the intended effect. However, players seem to feel it necessary to add torches to the floor of the pyramid when they visit. If you find any such torches as a visitor, please request for them to be removed.
