The South Seas Company is essentially Neko_Arc (formerly known by hillpa2 and later Tethys) fiefdom/autocracy/East India Company in the far south of Freedonia.
History
The South Seas Company was founded a few years back soon after Neko_Arc joined the server and traveled on foot as far as she could south from spawn to what was then effectively the furthest point on the map from spawn. Her original plan was to take over the entirety of a tiny mountain range where the South Seas Company main fort is now located today and set up a base there to mine what was then the rare packed ice from one of the few ice spikes biomes that generated next to it with the newly generated 1.7 terrain. However these plans never fully came to fruition and while she did manage to set up a base and fence off most of the mountain to solidify her territory, the server lag of the time and irl commitments put the project on what amounted to an indefinite hiatus. In the few times she was able to come online however she continued to expand the base including adding cobblestone paths over the ocean leading out to the world's edge and to the few neighbors around. Later after Ben Potter's Spruce Highway was constructed another cobblestone path was built to connect overland to it.
Shortly after changing her minecraft username once again in September of 2021 Neko_Arc re-logged after a long hiatus to discover the city of Barrow constructed nearby and that a user she had never met before Beau_biscuit built an adorable house with a tree in one of the public building areas she made but never expected anybody to actually use. So far during this rush of building by Neko she has managed to build another more northerly path connecting to Ben Potter's Spruce Highway that she hopes Barrow will eventually build up to as well as start construction on the Snow Tower. Also during this time she realized the world size had been expanded even further south meaning her base no longer had the distinction of being one of the few builds at the southernmost extent of the map.
Facilities
The South Seas Company main fort's facilities are mostly free and open to the public. Among them are relatively large carrot, potato, sugarcane, pumpkin, and watermelon farms in the bay of the mountain with a nearby chest containing some of their harvested product free for anyone to take. Also nearby up a staircase on the hill is a building overhanging the bay containing a free to use enchantment table, furnaces (if you can, please replenish the fuel you use), anvil, and brewing stand. On the second floor of the building are some tiny apartments with some wool and signs in the lower floor chest should anyone want to claim and use them. Near the building outside one of the north entrances is a small tree farm as well, don't use if you are planning on not replanting. There is also a frame of a nether portal near the farms should anyone ever activate it.
Snow Tower
In September of 2021 Neko_Arc noticed that unlike her neighbors, her facility/base lacked any flashy towers or tall buildings. While her facility/apartment building was swell and she had plans to expand it with time, it was quite frankly overly expensive to expand with all its hard to obtain regular bricks, slow to smelt stone bricks, and the pain of placing jack-o'-lantern ceiling lights. To remedy this deficiency Neko decided to hastily construct a new tower using just whatever building materials she had readily available. The result is the currently still under construction Snow Tower. A 9x9 interior floor plan building whose basement currently stretches all the way down to bedrock and will reach all the way to max building height constructed entirely out of sandstone slab floors, cobblestone walls, some windows, and sturdy solid piled up snow reinforcing the cobblestone walls. Surely a marvel of minecraft engineering (and cheapness).
