This page is designed to help clear up what is and what is not constituted as spam.
MinecraftOnline's Definition
On this server, "Spam" is the intentional obstruction of communication or command use in chat. This includes sending illegal contents or malicious links.
What counts as a spam is up to moderator discretion. Generally an offending player will be warned to stop before a ban is issued. However, if there is an unambiguous situation of spam and communication is being affected, a moderator or admin will usually shoot first and ask questions later. As a guideline, repeating the same line or random asdf type nonsense text more than three times in chat is considered unambiguously spamming.
What is Spam
The following are what specifically would count as spam:
- Spamming through /mail, /msg or /staff commands.
- Anything repeated more than 3 times.
- Sending malicious links.
- Spamming other commands.
- Leaving and rejoining at excessive rate.
What is not Spam
Spam is NOT any of the following:
- Copypastas or pastes which are not repeated multiple times.
- Anything repeated less than 3 times.
- Being mean in chat.
- CAPS LOCK.
- Kill spamming.
- This is a distinct and separate rule not under the umbrella of spam as defined here.
