The spawn cloud is what it is, but what is it? It is not just any cloud. The cloud was made by the great shypixel himself. Whenever you go to spawn, scan the the sky because the spawn cloud will be chillin above you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The cloud originally had a benevolent purpose. When newbies would find themselves without weapon or equipment, Shypixel would direct them to stand under the cloud and pray to the sky gods. Using a wirelss command IC, the cloud would then drop a random quality sword or tool on the petitioner. Unfortunatly, after repeated griefing and looting of the cloud's dispensers, Shypixel gave up, and the cloud was relegated to decorative status.
