Waldo is a giant pixel art structure created by getplayerhead.sh?hjk321&16.png hjk321, and rotated in a way that he can be found on the live map in the style of Where's Waldo?. Standing over 185 meters tall, he can be faintly seen even while zoomed out. The project took three years to complete, but roughly 500 of those days were spent in hiatus. Trying to find Waldo in Freedonia can be an entertaining pasttime for the bored player. getplayerhead.sh?Anna_28&16.png Anna_28 was the first known player to find Waldo.

Hints

1. Click to reveal the first hint.

  • Waldo is currently visiting mainland Freedonia (the central landmass on the map).
  • 2. Click to reveal the second hint.

  • Waldo's favorite color is red. So turn on "Nexus Directions" in the online map, and he will be in the red section! (North-East)
  • 3. Click to reveal the third hint.

  • Waldo is almost exactly on a diagonal from spawn. From the online map view, you should be able to find him by panning directly up from the center of the map. (ie: positive X, negative Z)
  • 4. Click to reveal the fourth hint.

  • If you are truly stuck, this wiki page has the coordinates hidden in the "view source" tab.
  • Trivia

    • The structure likely could have been completed in less than a month, but its builder went on a lengthy hiatus during its construction.
    • Several people were able to find Waldo before he was finished because of this. There was originally going to be a contest with a 64 diamond block reward, but it never happened due to the hiatus.
    • The road next to Waldo did not exist until Waldo was over halfway done.
    • If you stood on the top of Waldo and pissed off the edge, it would take over a minute for it to hit the ground. Which is impressive, considering that piss has not yet been implemented in Minecraft.
