Abandon is a town founded by bcMineOut on April 6th, 2019.
History
Admiral bcMineOut was sailing the S.S. Prometheus on an expedition to new lands when in the midst of a terrible storm his ship entered a strange void. When the storm cleared he discovered the ship was now icebound in the /wilderness near a small set of islands.
Discharging his crew to explore the new lands he started off building an arboretum to use as a small home and base of operations. Once he discovered that there was likely no way to return to his home from these strange lands, he decided to found the town of Abandon near an ancient desert temple that his crew discovered in their nearby expeditions. He also discovered that the local natives operated a sky-bound highway near the town and after congenial discussions with the local authorities it was decided a footpath would branch off the highway, descending into the town square for easy access to distant towns for residents. The branch has been constructed to allow for future rail integration if or when that becomes desirable.
The desert temple houses a great statue that stares out towards the reflection pond in front of the temple. There is also a great crystal suspended in the air above the pond.
His former crew form the population of this town.
- Paul the priest (former ship's chaplain) attends the town church.
- Larry the librarian (former ship's cartographer) and Berry the butcher (former ship's cook) currently reside in the Town Hall until proper quarters are established.
- others to be named as time permits.
More history to be documented as time permits.
