Free Right of Action is one of MinecraftOnline's Principles.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. - getplayerhead.sh?Krenath&16.png Krenath

Rather than controlling every single action a player can take and preventing all foreseeable undesirable behavior, MinecraftOnline is founded on the idea that a player should be presented with a description of prohibited behaviors and should choose to self-regulate.

Players who cannot accomplish this, and who break the Rules, are excluded from the server and its community, as we would rather have players choose to follow the rules over players who only follow the rules because they are made incapable of breaking them.

It is up to the player to decide to follow the Rules. Players can choose between following the Rules or not following them, and their choice determines their ability to remain on MinecraftOnline. They do not have the excuse that, because some bug or loophole permitted their action that it should logically have been allowed.

Examples:

  • Instead of making it impossible to Grief, players have the ability to do so but are expected to follow the Rules. If they cannot, they can be Banned.
  • Instead of preventing chat Spam entirely, players must choose to obey the Rule prohibiting spamming or, again, be Banned.
  • Instead of spawn-camping another player, players must choose to obey the Rule against PvP Bullying.
