Renbucks
Renbucks are a non-standard craftnote currency produced by 
Ren to help fund various aspects of Emerald Mall. Renbucks cost 16 Diamond Blocks each, and may be exchanged with Ren anytime for their original value. They were created in 2023 after players in chat asked Ren to create Renbucks, so he decided to create them as an experiment that would test and push the limits of economic instruments that could be possible on MCO.
Rarity
As of 2026, a total of 520 Renbucks have been created. Originally they could be bought in the mall, but the shop has since been removed. If a player would like a Renbuck, they can either buy one directly from Ren for 16 DB or trade with someone who already has one.
Risk
Ren may be inactive, so may be unable to exchange a Renbuck back to 16 DB. AdoreKitten & abamacus also have access to exchange Renbuck to 16 DB, but they too may be inactive. In this scenario, Renbucks are still backed by the diamonds in the Emerald Mall, but the direct conversion is no longer available. Several players have used Renbuck as a proxy to donate to the Emerald Mall project and have no intent to use the exchange, so this risk is not applicable to these players.

Security Mechanism
Renbucks are numbered in the order they've been minted (1-64+), making them non-stackable. This decision was made to ensure that if any of the Renbucks were ever duplicated, for example 'Renbuck 200', it would be easy to identify the fraudulent/duplicated Renbuck and still honor the 16 Diamond Block exchange rate for all the honest Renbuck owners. If Renbuck did not have the ID system in place (Renbuck was stackable), if someone duplicated them, it would be impossible to identify which ones were fraudulent and could lead to the exploiter draining the reserve backing the currencies value.
As of 2026, no fraudulent Renbucks are known. You can check if a Renbuck has been reported as duplicated below. If a Renbuck has been duplicated, it is no longer able to be converted into 16 Diamond Blocks.
