Activities

• Prismatic Sands - town in the End. Open to new residents!
• Zelda Map 2 - the existing tribute to The Legend if Zelda that already exists in MCO, Zelda Map, is cool, but abamacus had a much grander ambition in mind!
• End Portal Frame
• Public Gravel Farm - just north of the Emerald Mall on the west side of the road. Still under construction. TODO: once completed, add to a (new?) page of public farms.

Past Projects / Accomplishments

• Camp Newbie was started and basically built in January 2022. I considered it "finished" when I finally wrote up the wiki page and permission signs on May 13th, 2022.
• Created two full sets of alphabet banners, with white text on black background. (details above)
• Ghast Farm
• In Rimini designed and built the Transportation Center -- the building just NW of center, with platforms designated for future Nexus linking.
• East of Rimini built and decorated a fully automated public Guardian farm. (because I needed way too many Dark Prismarine, and because it was fun)
  • Then add a cylinder of Sea Lanterns around it, and drained the interior of all water (and also removed all other blocks). This will prevent Squids from spawning outside of the monument while at its AFK spot, which should make the Ink Sac output pretty consistent and very good, instead of diminishing to nothing due to global mob caps. Finished this enhancement on May 22, 2022.
• Harassment Petition created from my disagreement with allowing horrific speech under the "Absolute Free Speech" rule. Since the /ignore command was added, I am no longer actively pursuing the rules change. But if asked, I will discuss the reasons I still feel the same way.
• Purchased a home in Gran Syre on July 27, 2022.
• Finished the arena in Emberrest on July 27, 2022; was appointed town staff the same day.
• Built the Enderwheel, and the connected Cactus Farm; started the Elytra Course.
• Built the Blaze Balloon.
• Concrete Shop in Brick Mall.
• Created alphabet banners, used by several players for large signage.
• Other lesser contributions:
  • Built "Lie Cake" in Cakeville
  • Blaze Rod building in BierTown
  • placed outer "half" (75% area) of Rimini circle, and drained the monuments beneath it
  • finished the initial surface dirt/grass/roads in Phoenix Isles
  • minor help terraforming or digging or just lending Haste II beacons to various projects

Backstory

abamacus spent many, many hours playing Minecraft single player. His most insane feat was "speed running" (a term he had never heard of at the time, yes he is old) to kill the End Dragon in hardcore random seed. Which he eventually got down to under 5 hours.

abamacus wanted to try multiplayer, but terrible internet connectivity prevented him from trying it. Until 2020 when circumstances changed, and now has pretty good internet!😀 He played on a few iterations of heavily modded servers that were effectively private, but after all the other players left and he finished his last big project, abamacus went in search of a larger community of friendly MC players.

abamacus was amazed at the MCO world - he found that the scale of the projects, longevity of the server, and deep social history are mighty to behold. Most amazing of all are the moderators and admins who are constantly vigilant to enforce the peculiar rules of conduct that are the backbone of the server.

Miscellaneous

On May 16, 2022 abamacus participated in his first actual mutually agreed PVP fight. abamacus was sortof accosted by  ProGamerNoob89 in the Nexus. But login timeouts made this not really effective at all, and when ProGamerNoob89 was more friendly about it and wanted to fight, they agreed to fight after preparing.  gamerTM1234 suggested an arena in New Venice, which he guided to and then started and spectated the fight. abamacus did not do very well, and was taken out while ProGamerNoob89 had half health.

Annoyingly a few of abamacus's items disappeared, and after some searching gamerTM1234 found Chest Collectors and Hoppers set up under the arena. After retrieving the lost items, they both clogged all of the collectors in that space with worthless blocks.

Mods

These are the Modifications which I use, in order from most-favorite to most-optional. Including raw mod file name, which you should be able to google to find the files.

• AntiGhost (antighost-1.12-forge14.21.1.2387-1.1.1.jar) - less re-logging for those who like to instant-mine.
• Xaeros Map (XaerosWorldMap_1.20.3.1_Forge_1.12.jar, Xaeros_Minimap_FP22.2.0.1_Forge_1.12.jar) - both world-map and mini-map ("fair play") mods.
• OptiFine (OptiFine_1.12.2_HD_U_G5.jar) - required to see custom MCO textures.
• Litematica (litematica-forge-1.12.2-0.0.0-dev.20191217.195055.jar, malilib-forge-1.12.2-0.10.0-dev.23.jar) - for saving builds made in Creative, and helping build them in MCO. Saves *lots* of time on large projects.
  • alternately Schematica (Schematica-1.12.2-1.8.0.169-universal.jar) - less features, much easier to learn. Note that Schematica is not supported after v1.12.2.
• ColorUtility (ColorUtility-universal-1.0.4.jar) - write formatted text on signs and books.
• Ghostwriter (1.12.2-Ghostwriter-1.9.8.jar) - "Utility for dealing with books (backup, restore, copy, paste, etc.)"
• WorldEdit (worldedit-forge-mc1.12.2-6.1.10-dist.jar, WorldEdit-CUI-FE3-1.12.2-3.0.9.jar) - "In-game Minecraft map editor"
• Named Heads (namedheads-0.2.0+1.12.2.jar) - shows the player-name of a placed player-head block, similar to renamed item in an item frame.
• dependencies -- not sure which of the above require which one(s) of these, but they are required for something! :)
