Niamos is a small tropical island city founded by
jack_477, located roughly 700, and 1000 meters away from the Town of Life, and New Banhammer Island respectively. The island was originally a mushroom island, whose mycelium was later partially replaced with grass. Niamos was built on the grassified half of the island, whereas the mycelium side remains virtually untouched, with the exception of a small noob hut, built by
DrFlamngo, more than eight years prior to
jack_477's arrival.
It's unknown if Niamos has any other contributors.
Architecture
Niamos can be divided into two districts: the Residential District, and the Port.
Residential District
Niamos' Residential District mainly consists of tall apartments, and small bungalows. The materials used in Niamos' constructions consist almost exclusively of natural stone types—both their polished and unpolished variants. This includes the roads, which are made out of sandstone. At the centre of the Residential District is a vaguely T-shaped building, which seems to act as some sort of administrative building, with a blue beacon located in front of it. East of this area is an elevated Nether portal.
The Residential District is surrounded by a large floodbank, with seven stone wave breakers along its shore.
Port
Niamos' Port is located north of the Residential District. At the Port is an empty bulk carrier, named after the titular city, docked. On the dock is a container crane, with a handful of containers behind it.
Trivia
- Despite Niamos being located in a mushroom island biome, spread throughout the city are occasional 1x1 block patches of jungle biome.
- Niamos seems to have been based on the Star Wars planet of the same name, sharing some similarities, such as the wave breakers.
