History
The Citadel was founded, June 5th, 2016. The Citadel saw very slow progress in its early days, only having a few buildings and infrastructure over the years, and then the founder, RileyManMassey, was banned for five years. Since his ban was appealed, many projects have been completed, and citizens have joined. Although The Citadel was founded many years prior, the "historical" district was completed on March 7th, 2024. The first building in the district was The Citadel Visitor Center, which is somewhat of a replica of the original visitor center that was located at spawn many years ago. The final building of the district was The Citadel Police Department Headquarters. While the members of the city council make the laws. TCPD is the prime enforcer over The Citadelian lands, eventually there will be departments in every region. The first embassy built in The Citadel was also constructed in March of 2024. Another thing to note, RileyManMassey convinced his fiancé, Laney_Bugg22 to join the server. After building a few structures in the main districts, she sought to create on her own; with inspiration in name only from The Elder Scrolls, she founded Moonguard, which is nearby. In very recent news, The Citadel has reached its tenth birthday. Long live The Citadel!
Current Initiatives
There are many things currently being worked on at The Citadel. The overall goal is to finally get a Nexus link to really put the town on the map. To accomplish this, contributors are actively constructing new infrastructure, roads, bridges, and the impending railway express line and subway system. Along with making The Citadel more accessible, the City Council wants to make it more vital in the landscape of Freedonia with automatic farms that compare to those of bigger locations. There are plans for a large xp grinder, a full-fledged wood farm, stone farm, sand/glass farm, andesite/granite/diorite farm, and more of a variety of food options. City Council wants to make The Citadel a destination for more than just looking around. And as always, there are always plans of expanding, but that requires dirt!
