About me

I'm _where_, obviously a Minecraft player who spends most of their time on this server instead of any other. My nickname might be considered a bit rare, so it is not going to be changed anytime soon, especially to prevent myself from being impersonated. If you use Essential Mod, you can add me as a friend.

You may find me AFKing at Spawn sitting on the stairs next to the cake, or doing things in WatchTown, which I own. Besides this, I travel a lot in an attempt to collect items that I might find valuable, or just to explore new places. Not when my inventory is full, which is unfortunately the case all the time.

Favorite admin? Easilly getplayerhead.sh?AppleSilly&16.png AppleSilly, for a few reasons, including one that the server doesn't know about!

I have my own Minecraft server that I sometimes play on, it has a small world border and interesting warps. The IP is f_r_a_m_e_s.aternos.me, but it is not always on.

You may visit our site here. Please stop mentioning MW, it's old. If you don't know what that means, then you're likely in the good.

If you need to tell me anything urgent, even when I appear to be online, send me a mail in game: /mail send _where_ [your message here]

History

Most of my time on this server was spent with exploration in mind, so there is not much to talk about here.

I joined MCO during the summer of 2022, but did not have a house until around December. It was built near Watershire at X: 64, Y: 93, Z: 2319, a sign board was also nearby, which suffered the fate of grief later on. I also destroyed the house and board when I fully moved to another place.

In the year 2023, I planned to move to a location far away that I discovered using the /wilderness command, where I built a larger house with an animal farm, which became the first ever building of WatchTown. It was, and still is, located at X: 15798, Y: 62, Z: -3364. At the end of that year, I finally reached the Gold kit and stopped voting for a very long time.

Next year, during July 2024, getplayerhead.sh?JCobbler2012&16.png JCobbler2012 became a co-owner of my town and helped me expand the little place into an active town with a ton of players. In the same month, it has gotten a Nexus link.

Recommended mods

Since I play on this server regularly and some of the mods aren't available for newer versions, I only use 1.12.2. Therefore I do not guarantee that this list will work out for everyone. These mods are listed in no particular order.

  • A must-have mod is definitely OptiFine. It increases performance of your game and adds a few QoL features.
  • If you're feeling creative, get Blockbuster. You are able to create a lot of things with this mod, especially for videos. Only useful in singleplayer, I do not use this on servers.
  • An additional mod for the one mentioned above is Minema. It is able to record videos of the game just by pressing a key. There is a tutorial below on how to use this mod.
  • Do you dig a lot? You need AntiGhost. It gets rid of all the phantom blocks just by pressing a configurable key.
  • Is item searching a problem for you? Do you want to stop googling for recipes? Just Enough Items adds an item index into your inventory screen.
  • Are you an avid world explorer like me? Get Xaero's Minimap or JourneyMap (This one is better in my opinion, but it is your choice). Note that to comply with the server rules, you must turn off entity display, including players.
  • Want an easy way to connect with other Minecraft players? Essential adds friend features to your game, alongside other neat cosmetic perks.
  • Do you have a controller and want to take full advantage of it? Get Controllable to add support for it!
  • Are you a book writer? Are the default features not enough for you? Ghostwriter adds a bunch of other features that will save you time.
  • A lot of mods equals a lot of hotkeys. Controlling will sort them for you, and make them searchable.
  • Can't memorize what each enchantment does? Enchantment Descriptions will tell you everything about them!
  • Did you just say, 'What block is this?' Hwyla is here to save the day!
  • Do you use a multiscreen setup for work, or anything else? Minecraft won't let you get out of its fullscreen mode? Use Fullscreen Windowed instead.
  • Are you tired of constantly writing commands to do one action? Get MacroKey Keybinding and wire all of your commands to keys!
  • Building structures? Need to rebuild them in another world? Schematica allows you to save and load blueprints of your builds.

How to set up Minema

As someone who takes a lot of screenshots in-game, I want a quick way of recording videos in-game as well. Thus I've been using this mod for quite a long time and it always saves me a lot of time, instead of having to open OBS or anything similar, I can just press a key to record a quick video and not having to worry about anything.

For this guide I will be assuming that your key of choice is F4 (the default) and that you already have a copy of FFmpeg, which you can get here. Note that your videos will not have any sound, which is a limitation of the game engine and the mod.

Minema does not require any dependencies, so put it in your mods folder and launch Minecraft. Go to the mod's config and select Encoding. Change Encoder Path to the bin folder. For example: C:\ffmpeg-master-latest-win64-gpl\bin. Also change Encoder Arguments to -f rawvideo -pix_fmt bgr24 -s %WIDTH%x%HEIGHT% -r %FPS% -i - -vf %DEFVF% -c:v libx264 -preset faster -tune zerolatency -crf 26 -pix_fmt yuv420p %NAME%.mp4, which makes the file size a little smaller and speeds up encoding at the cost of some quality. But why would you need quality if it's a quick video, right?

Next, go to Engine Overrides. Turn on Frame rate limit and Thread synchronize. This ensures that your video will not look like it was taken in slow motion. The only drawback to this is that if your game lags, the mod will skip every frame that hasn't rendered and basically make parts of your video look as if they were cut. Again, not a big deal for a quick video.

If you've done everything correctly, you can try recording. Join a server and press F4. There might be a warning in chat about ticks, but you can ignore that. When you're done, press F4 again. The resulting video should appear in .minecraft\movies. Congratulations, you've recorded your video, and now you can do that whenever you want!
