The Westway is a dual carriageway road in Lake Callian. As part of the Callian (Lake) Improvement Programme (CLIP), it is planned to improve connections between the Lake Callian Region and nearby settlements, such as Nebulus.
It is largely inspired by real-world highways such as the named-after Westway (A40) in London and the West Cross Route in London. Additionally, it has a modular bus stop and contains an accurate model of the New Routemaster bus from London, with an accurate interior to complement this!
This is also offered in a "compact" configuration which retains most benefits but massively reduces size from 2 chunks wide to a more mini footprint.
This highway design is being offered for free with all materials being provided at the request to an employee of MS Inc. who will get you in touch with
MSWindows.
Design
The first of its kind, the Westway boasts an innovative and revolutionary design which supersedes existing MinecraftOnline roads. It is constructed as a Proof of Concept for the new design created by
MSWindows and owned by MS Inc.
The standard configuration is exactly 2 chunks (32 blocks) wide and contains multiple thought-out features. For instance, it boasts 3 three-wide lanes per carriageway, totalling a whopping 6 lanes. Crucially, 1 of each lane on the dual carriageway are express ice highways, providing high-speed travel.
Lighting is crucial (literally). In a genius fashion, this design takes the bold innovative step of using integrated sea lanterns as lane markings and then layering white carpet over to cover it - this retains light but unifies and strengthens the already great design. It is widely praised for being less susceptible to Griefing. These carpets can be changed for other colors, such as yellow for a Bus Stop. Additionally, the use of carpet is vital for the express high-speed lanes which act as a physical barrier for boats to prevent derailing of boats.
Furthermore, one of its more underrated features is the central island platform running parallel between the carriageways. This is multi-purpose. Whilst only six blocks wide, its potential is unbound. For instance, it can host multiple rail tracks in the middle, island platforms for the express high-speed lanes and more!
Also, the design is modular, boasting the potential capacity to dynamically add or subtract lanes, central island platforms and more. An example can be seen in the New Routemaster featured in the image of the Westway, displaying an accurate model of the real-life New Routemaster bus on an added modular bus stop.
Effectiveness and Promotion by MS Inc.
MS Inc.'s Chief Executive Officer
MSWindows proudly promotes the use of this design in popular, dense urban environments which see high use for its highly-rated functionality and aesthetics.
It is a cost-effective solution with all materials being easily attainable. Additionally,
MSWindows has a surplus of supplies, which he generously offers to support similar projects at no cost.
Superseding them, it is positioned to be a viable alternative to "tind" design roads and the official successor to the official Heruvian Interstate Project design.
Consultations and Public Opinion
Alike its real-life inspiration, the Westway has received a multi-faceted reception including praises for innovation but controversies for efficiency. MS Inc. stands behind the Westway as a cost-effective and feasible solution with its compact configuration as a solution to address major concerns. Additionally,
MSWindows sees this as a "functional yet aesthetically pleasing" solution unlike the existing notorious "tind" roads -
BuffaloBom strongly disagrees with this sentiment.
MSWindows also vehemently denies any accusations of discrimination or racism.
Comments
At this time, it is unknown where the Freedonia Road Co., President
BillionPenny and/or
George_Mann (famed for this extreme highway network Heruvian Interstate Project) stands on this. Such revelation of opinion can be modified to this page in the form of a comment in the space provided.
