Public witch farm whose sole purpose is to generate unlimited glowstone and redstone.
Although MCO already had a couple of witch farms, none of those had any actual output. Thus I decided to build one that aimed for maximum efficiency (to best of my ability).
How to use
(Temporary) Just /ascend or fly to small golden platform in center and afk, all drops should be collected in chest nearby
Efficiency measures
First of all - despawn sphere should contain as many witch huts as possible, sadly 2 huts is the best i could find (latest map expansion - August 2021)
To prevent any unwanted mobs from spawning (lighting caves is also an option, but any missed cave can significantly lower drop rates) and to keep both huts within range of afk spot whole 256x256 cylinder area needed to be excavated. Excavation took about 200-300 hours with help of Puddin_Time and Alyssa41096. Also i'd like to thank owners of Newport XP farm: Darkerfly, r9q, DorpEngineer for saving a ton of time on repairs.
Farm design is made by ilmango - tutorial (tutorial is for 1.14.4 but it works in 1.12.2 singleplayer, although i didn't test drop rates)
Current problems
Aaaaaand as it turned out there's no output whatsoever :|
- I didn't test it for long enough but i can safely say that even if 1 witch will spawn - it is not enough
- Random bugged light sources, i should definitely remove those since they did affect light levels
- Even by afk-ing above 1 of huts (~120 blocks above) it produced nothing
Boundary boxes for witch huts are correct and huts were spawning witches during excavation, so it shouldn't be the reason. Maybe it has something to do with mob cap, low tps or other server-side nuances that i'm currently not aware of. I'll keep trying to make it work, but i can tell it'll take a while. If you, reader, found out possible solution dm me Ziza_art and i'll put your statue near the entrance or smth xD
Well, even if witch farm really wouldn't work in the end i can use excavated space for other kinds of mob farms (maybe golems?) or some kind of testing facility.
