Elderlands

The Elderlands Plot Numbering Scheme is an ongoing effort to number and monitor land property across all settlements of the Elderlands. Each parcel of land is given a code, consisting of the settlement, the particular district, and then the plot or room number.

Numbering

Every plot in a specific district is first given numbers, usually starting from 1, with no preceding zeroes. If a small piece of green space was to become its own plot or a plot is subdivided into multiple plots, after the initial numbering, a letter could be added at the end of the numbers of resulting new plots, the latter would based on the smallest of the neighbouring plot's number. For example, if plot TS21 was to split into two plots, the resulting plots would be given numbers TS21 and TS21A. If a green space between plots FR69 and FR73 was to become a plot, it would be given FR69A. This is usually done if renumbering plots is near impossible.

Apartments, residential hotels and other buildings with multiple player-owned rooms are given one property code, and the rooms are numbered by adding a number at the end, signifying the floor. For example, RN6-7 would be the seventh floor of building RN6. If multiple rooms are on the same floor, a letter would be added at the end, differentiating the rooms. For instance, if there are three rooms on the third floor of building JS9, the rooms would be numbered JS9-3A, JS9-3B and JS9-3C. The first floors of buildings are usually not given a number, as they are most often lobbies.

History

In late September 2025, getplayerhead.sh?BuffaloBom&16.png BuffaloBom, then the mayor of Kyron, decided to assign numbers to Kyron plots based on districts, inspired by the old plot number systems of Mistral Valley and Emberrest. An internal spreadsheet for Kyron was later created, to keep track of land property ownership and permissions.

The numbering scheme was later expanded to other settlements, with double letter prefixes, first to Sunset City in early November. Kyron was exempt from having a settlement letter, as it is where plot numbering began and changing every plot marker would take a lot of effort. Proposals were also made for Iceh and Lynchburg.
