Gotthard Tunnel is a long tunnel for boats that connects Lake Vesitaysi with another southern lake, passing under Oldville. It is about 100 meters long on an askew line. Gotthard Tunnel is the biggest of four tunnels Tussenstad Enterprises ( IvanLeshev and hprick) has built:
History
On the 8th of July, hprick was creating the southern harbour of South Tussenstad to connect Tussenstad to the south-eastern lake, when he got an idea: what is a better way to connect BenEm to the south-eastern lake than to literaly create a waterway connecting the two? Thus, the idea for Gotthard Tunnel was born. hprick started digging the next day, but the most work was done the day after, when IvanLeshev came to help. The same evening (10 july), Gotthard Tunnel was finished, making it the fastest creation of Eternal Building Buddies IvanLeshev and hprick.
Function
Gotthard Tunnel was created to be able to extend the BenEm boat route from Lake Vesitaysi to the agglomeration of Casa de Austria, which means that the Benjamese Empire could easily be connected to Spawn via open water. The new tunnel also allows the BenEm staff to easily create a branch of the boat route going to the north-west Nexus hub.
Design
From the start, hprick, who came with the idea, was sure that he would make a design with obsidian pillars. However, he first came up with a purple-blue design, but IvanLeshev came with the surprising, but thought-out idea of making yellow walls, which hprick approved to. hprick made one strip of the wall have blue stained clay, to keep a bit of his own design in. Of course, the obsidian pillars stayed in the design, hprick even decided to implement twice as much obsidian than he had initially planned.
