History
The Great Lakes area has been around since the servers conception, but has remained relatively unexplored and unknown for Freedonias long history. This regions first known settlers are Feb1980 and theschlozmeister.
The first known town in the region is Kanal Town which was founded in April 2017, shortly followed by Klippby. The region saw its first major road connection built between Kanal Town and the nexus in 2018 by SlicedTomato and his building company.
The area saw slow growth 2017-2020 until the founding of Annaheim and Oak Town. A road link between Kanal, AnneHeim, and Oak Town was made in the early 2020s. Multiple smaller towns popped up around this time aswell including Hill Country, New Oak Town, and Carls Town. In 2021 an agreement was met between multiple towns in the area to expand the borders of Dernal National Park to protect vulnerable pre adventure update terrain. Also in 2021 a player named Cafi95 began raiding towns within the area. Kanal Towns expansion in 2023 has seen renewed interest in the area due to its remote and unusual nature.
The region got a railway system in 2023 with the founding of the Spawn Continental Railway], a railway system separate from the FRS. This railway saw the region get its 7th new town in the form of Chilliwack.
