MinecraftOnline has multiple railways traversing its 13 year old map. This page is to help distinguish the different railways that are apart of the FRS and not apart of the FRS. If you are looking for information on how to build railways (safely) go to the page Lets Build a Railway.

History of railways in Freedonia

The first railway in Freedonia was made to connect getplayerhead.sh?Shypixel&16.png Shypixels city of Lava Town and getplayerhead.sh?AgentMuu&16.png AgentMuus town the Isle of Muu. This railway showed off the viability of long distance railways as a legitimate form of travel across the world. Multiple rail lines would expand to early cities and towns shortly after this. The sudden growth of the rail industry saw the birth of the FRS, a group focusing on the growth and standardization of Freedonias many railways. Railways would continue to be an iconic part of travel on the server until loosing steam when Project Anubis was finished. While the railway was still a popular form of transit, it would begin to loose popularity as the server got older. Despite this, multiple lines of the FRS would expand across the server with the various map expansions.

With the TPS of the server decreasing in the mid 2010s as the map got older; rails became more laggy and somewhat hard to use. Despite this the Marqange Railway began to be built across spawn. Eventually during the end of the 1.7.10 era around (2018-2020) rail was nearly unusable due to lag. This would change with the 1.12.2 update which fixed TPS somewhat. The 1.12.2 map expansion saw increased interest in railways as a mode of transport across the unexplored and wild new areas. 1.12.2 began to bring more people to the servers and saw MinecraftOnline more mainstream with events such as the Fitmc Invasion. The increase in player count saw the railways begin to get some attention again as an important part of the servers history.

Later in the 2020s multiple small railways began to pop up that were not apart of the FRS. It came to a design among some of these owners to make the Railways wiki page to help differentiate their railways from the existing FRS lines.
