What is the Ichikawa Project?

The Ichikawa (市川) project is an incredibly large scale megacity, measuring with a total area of 3.6 million blocks! It reaches both vertical build limits, with the floor of the city just above the void at y level 1 and the highest level projected to reach 255 blocks high. The city itself has six levels to it, and generally follows a more brutalist style of building. If you would like to become a member of the Ichikawa project, you can contact Orbsidian or any of the below listed staff.

Inspirations

Ichikawa is mainly inspired by the Manga/Anime series "Girls' Last Tour." The series itself is about two girls who after a large scale war wiping out humanity, are left as some of the few humans left on Earth. Most of the series shows their journey around the megacity they live in and the various things they discover on their "tour." The megacity within the series is, just like Ichikawa, a multi-tiered city with a total of six layers. The general building style of Ichikawa is also heavily based off the series, a brutalist style combined with the feel of an old, crumbling city.

Stratums

What are the Stratums?

"Stratums" refer to the levels or floors of the city. In Ichikawa, there are six total stratums, all with different purposes, sizes, and various levels of machinery. The higher up you go, the more lit up the level will be, as in accordance with the inspiration for Ichikawa.

Project History

October 2025 - The Ichikawa project is started, without having a name yet. It is originally established in the Northwest ocean in the Freedonian overworld, but is soon moved to the end. Demigod getplayerhead.sh?Crafter_Keegan&16.png Crafter_Keegan provides large amounts of cobblestone.

November 2025 - getplayerhead.sh?Abamacus&16.png Abamacus joins the project, suggesting the move to the end and becoming a head project manager. getplayerhead.sh?AdoreKitten&16.png AdoreKitten also joins the project and creates the cobblestone generator in the middle of Ichikawa. The border establishing the size of the project is created, and work begins on filling in the first layer, with demigods filling in water around the entire city in a 50 block high, 100 block wide ocean. This ocean is sat on top of an obsidian disc mostly created by getplayerhead.sh?Abamacus&16.png Abamacus. Wiki is created.

December 2025 - Most of this month is spent on filling in the first layer, with getplayerhead.sh?Abamacus&16.png Abamacus along with other hired helpers working on the 50 block tall walls of the first level and demigods working on the surrounding ocean. Admins as well as god kit getplayerhead.sh?LordOfTheShadows&16.png LordOfTheShadows help to remove incredibly large chunks of endstone islands. Discord server is created for the project.

(A small mishap regarding endstone removal involving getplayerhead.sh?SenatorApple&16.png SenatorApple also occurs...)

January 2025 - First layer of cobblestone is finshed. Ocean is nearly done, and the 50 block wall for the first stratum is finished. More help is received from admins with endstone, and the floor of the first stratum begins construction.
