As the name suggests, this machine harvests jungle trees. While harvesting small ones or just the trunks of large ones is easy to do with some advanced doors, this harvester goes one step further and also harvests the wood of the branches and destroys the leaves to get the saplings, just like its little brother, the Universal Combine Tree Harvester.

How do I get there?

The harvester is located in the Jungle District of Glenfiddich. The easiest way to get there is to take the red Metro line from the Central Metro Station in the entrance building to Laphroaig, then turn right twice after leaving the station.

How do I use it?

Place four jungle saplings on the dirt patch in the centre and apply bonemeal to make a large jungle tree grow. The harvester will start automatically. When you hear a "ding" sound, the process is completed and you can take the wood from the chest at the dirt. The dropped saplings will be transported to the chest near the entrance a short while later.
A small tree from a single sapling may not trigger the harvester. You can use the button labelled "Manual start" to run it and harvest the tree. Harvesting small jungle trees is not recommended, because large trees will produce much more wood in the same time.

How does it work?

When a tree has grown, a light sensor turns off, because there is no light inside the tree. This starts the harvesting process:

First, the trunk is removed by two advanced doors sized 2x30. Cobble gets placed in front of two of the piston walls by an advanced door (9x26). The pistons extend and push the cobble inwards, destroying leaves and pushing logs towards the centre. This is repeated until the whole space between the pistons and the trunk is filled with cobble. The cobble is removed by advanced doors and transferred back to the chest for the outermost door with a mine cart (Collect/Deposit). The whole process is repeated with the other pair of piston walls, and again with the first pair to ensure that all logs are pushed into the central 2x2x30 column and harvested.

The piston walls and doors are triggered with transmitter / receiver pairs. Process control is mostly time-based with long lines of monoflops.

Saplings are collected in the area with four chest collectors. A mine cart collect/deposit setup transfers them to the collection point when the tree harvesting run is over.
