The Monument

The Lag Monument was a structure immortalizing the dark period of MCO, where it was trapped with heavily inefficient plugins and the server tps rarely raised above 8. It stood on the south side of spawn, next to Anna's spawn house. It was easily mistaken for being a glitched chunk due to its size, and because of this, was often griefed accidentally. There was a built-in cave with signage talking about the days before the update. A pickaxe was going to be added into the giant stone block but it never came to fruition.

Creation

There have been many discussions on the server about the upcoming 1.12.2 update as of the time of writing, and how it is going to fix the long frustrating server lag problem. However, the nightmare many endured during this period, making what would normally be simple projects like Project MOON's village room into many month-long endeavors for those who lacked high tier diamond tools. How will the server remember these dreadful days of low tps? How will people remember the vast struggles of those who spent years swimming through an ocean of Post Traumatic Lag Depression? The answer lies in a monument, crafted by a man who's first big project was entirely underground, in the heat of the server lag.

The Yeetening

For some reason, in July of 2020, the build was removed without notification or warning. With the land empty as can be,  ScarClaw72 repurposed the land for the build contest winner of the winner of the 10th Birthday Build Contest
