Welcome to The Continental! The Continental is an upcoming metropolis in West Freedonia, founded in 2023 by Aidan.
History
To Aidan, MinecraftOnline has been great for building, for history, for events, and for dungeons, but it's always been a bit messy. MCO's combat is chaos, with lag, combat logging, command usage and more adulterating a pure PvP experience. The economy is pure anarchy, split across 10+ storefronts with inconsistent prices, sometimes exorbitant, sometimes dirt cheap. Someone had to bring order to Freedonia with a center for trade, commerce and more, and Aidan wanted to be the one to do it. So, after rewatching the John Wick movie series with his girlfriend in September 2023, the franchise's "Continental Hotel" - the headquarters for the criminal underground in the series, maintaining order for the assassins that reside within - was fresh in his mind, and thus, The Continental was born. Since its inception, The Continental has expanded outside of a purely PvP-based town and become a central for everything a MinecraftOnline player could need, with luxury housing, incredible history, fun minigames, and a bustling economy all merged into one grand city.
Architecture
The Continental follows a French neo-classical theme, with its buildings drawing inspiration from the real-life Louvre, New York Public Library, and other similar properties.
Most builds put a heavy emphasis on a stone-based block palette, making use of blocks such as Stone Bricks, Sandstone, End Stone, Cobblestone, Claystone, and of course, Stone itself.
Shape-wise, projects generally include both round and linear sections together, as well as architectural details such as pillars, tinted glass walls, pony walls, and checkered floors.
An ice road is incorporated in the main road of The Continental to allow for fast inter-city travel.
Location
The Continental is located in the western 1.12 expansion of Freedonia.
Reaching The Continental is most easily done by taking the Nexus System to the Blue 1 Borderlands Hub and using an elytra to travel north-northeast; only one firework is required.
Additionally, The Continental can be accessed through 
George_Mann's slab road connecting many of the southern Borderlands Hubs, as well as the Template:Continental Route connecting The Continental and nearby settlements via boat.
Plans for railway, portal, elytra, and nexus links are in place for the future.

Residents
Most residents of The Continental live within the skyscraping Continental Hotel, located at the west end of the city. Smaller homes may be built around the outskirts of the city for private housing.

Timeline
- August 31st, 2023 - Aidan returns to MinecraftOnline after a two-year absence.
- September 4th, 2023 - Construction on The Continental begins.
- September 6th, 2023 - The platform for The Continental is completed.
- September 10th, 2023 - A road is built to aid in travel throughout The Continental.
- September 15th, 2023 - The Continental Museum begins construction.
- October 10th, 2023 - The exhibits of the Continental Museum are completed.
- April 30th, 2024 - The Continental Hotel begins construction.
- May 4th, 2024 - Players begin to call The Continental their home after the completion of the Continental Hotel.
- May 6th, 2024 - Central Park begins construction.
- May 9th, 2024 - Central Park is completed.
- May 16th, 2024 - Shard Terminal is built.
- May 19th, 2024 - The Continental Route is plotted.
