Trapdoor is the name of a settlement featuring a vertical forest; a slice of landscape has been flipped up like a trapdoor and raised to the vertical. Torn up from the crust by titanic forces, this opened a hole through the very bedrock itself, and waterfalls of lava spill from its cracks.

Some NPC mineshafts riddled the ground beneath and have been exposed to the air by the cataclysm that occurred here.

A popular and thrilling sport is skydiving from the top of the forest, through the trees.

Creation

Nobody is quite sure how this came about - some players claim admin intervention, although nobody knows of any tool capable of lifting a piece of the ground and simultaneously rotating it around a horizontal axis. Others claim that the cause must have been chunk corruption caused by a server crash while saving the region. Still others insist that a team of individuals must have worked on it in secret for months on end, meticulously placing back every leaf by hand; a screenshot of the map showing this apparently mid-construction appears to confirm this theory.

The fact is that nobody will ever really know for sure.

Occupants

Since this is natural landscape, the entire area is available for mining and construction; in fact it would be an excellent spot for a mountain base. Despite this fact, at the time of writing, nobody appears to have made any effort to colonise it seriously, with only a little surface mining going on to reach the exposed ores and a small sideways house constructed by getplayerhead.sh?Xyginator&16.png Xyginator and getplayerhead.sh?TheEnderCow&16.png TheEnderCow.
