When the hunt began for the ruins of the old city, a headquarters was established on these neighboring islands because of their centrally located positioning within Luna Bay. Although the active team resides at Recovery One, this base has remained vital for coordinating efforts and examining recovered artifacts.
History
Project MOON's reconstruction began in 2016 after discovering historical data about its existence. Secretly, under the order of ScarClaw72, a small team of experts ranging from archeologists, scientists, and historians was assembled to help locate and document historical sites relevant to the history of MOON. Originally operating out of various hidden safehouses, Project Recovery went to great lengths to ensure the protection of these discoveries until proper defenses and stations could be constructed. Some early discoveries included the discovery of the Artemis Ruins, the original stronghold later developed into Nexus Brown, and the Cerrulean Library which helped shed light on the history. The Followers of Luna and Legend of MOON are primarily derived from these resources, solidifying the team's importance going forward.
In the waning months of the reconstruction, a permanent headquarters was established to finally improve the conditions the team worked under. Finally out of the shadows and in the public eye, the team was tasked with their biggest challenge yet- finding the wreckage of the original floating city. Given the wide expanse of Luna Bay, a more permanent station was necessary and that also meant coming out of the shadows. After a dedicated race to secure the historical site, the ruins were finally discovered in the waters between The Archipelago and Saikyo. Given its complicated and almost maze-like design, expeditions became costly and slow to maintain. This led to the creation of Recovery One, shortening the commute and improving the efficiency of the aquatic archeological expeditions. Only a small fragment of the city has been discovered, with the rest either falling down beneath the ocean floor or having been destroyed by some more permanent means.
Although the research teams to Luna Bay activate more publicly than the organization had historically, there are other teams who activate more discreetly while trying to uncover more sites of interest critical to the history of MOON. Rumors circulating often speak of a tag team of shadow operatives leading the charge with Project Dusk, as well as veteran explorers searching the depths of hell to find the fabled sister city under the guise of Project SUN.
