Sparkle Resort is a private location built by StardustSparkler, with only his personal friends and members of Freedonia's Staff team allowed on the premises. It is a primarily stone brick-based compound resting upon the grounds of his original base built ten years ago in the original jungle he was teleported to by Reseres. The original house remains inside.
A History
In June of 2015, StardustSparkler connected to MinecraftOnline with his original username of catman4592. Knowing nothing about the server's dynamics and being new to the game of Minecraft overall, he had no way of knowing that Spawn, resource-wise, was a very picked through place, lacking in ores and other blocks a new player would need to get a foothold on a new server. While he was in the middle of digging into a hill in his first shelter for ore, a Moderator teleported in. This mod was Reseres, and he had come to inform Star that basing at Spawn as a newbie was a bad idea. After listening to his arguments, Star knew he had to leave, but wasn't sure where to go. It was then that, after a bit of time spent looking around the server for a reasonably empty place to base, Reseres offered to teleport him to a jungle 10,000 blocks out from 0,0 along the x-coordinate (about 9,889 blocks out from Spawn proper). Star agreed, and was thusly deposited in the untamed wilderness. After a bit of wandering, he found a suitable place to make a hut out of cobble, and it was there that he based for a time, renovating the building to be made out of brick shortly after one of his first friends was banned. Eventually, Star, still being quite young, had decided to build a castle around his base to make it more complete, having seen plenty of Minecraft castles on YouTube over the early 2010s. He slowly and painstakingly constructed a wall of stone brick around the base, not knowing of the resource heavy farms that would've made his job easier, and had the wall almost half complete when his new friend at the time, feb1980 asked if he wanted to build a base together in a mountain a large distance away. Eager, Star jumped at the opportunity, and moved out of his old base for greener pastures. It was there that the base would sit in this half-complete state for the next almost decade. As the years went by, the base sat there, an unknowing sentry to the various players that came across the jungle it was in and called it home, transforming it from its former state as wilderness. It looked like it would stay that way for good...until Star came back.
Finishing A Job
Star had occasionally come back to the base, to remove player heads and resources from the house's chests. He never lingered, and never saw the changes happening in the jungle right outside his door, as he never ventured outside the house. By 2024, he was a seasoned veteran of Freedonia who had been off and on the server for various periods of time. He realized that 2025 marked ten years of his time on the server, and wanted to figure out something he could do to celebrate. It was then that his attention returned to his long-abandoned first base. He teleported to the base, still having it as an alias, and observed for the first time the developments happening around the area. The sight of a very nice treehouse just a couple hundred or so blocks from his base made him realize just how dilapidated his unfinished base looked in comparison, and suddenly, he had an idea. By January 2025, he was ready. He demolished half of the original wall, building the second part much taller and further out to add an observatory platform with which he could stand on. He added redstone lights, and new blocks from the 1.12 expansion, rejuvenated the terrain, and did things he lacked the capability to accomplish as a younger player. Utilizing the resource farms he now was aware of, a project that would've taken him months to do years ago now took him only around two weeks. By the 21st of January, he considered the base feature complete, just lacking some extra details. With an observatory floor, better protection, better variation of blocks, and a much prettier environment, his old brick hut, once an eyesore, took on the name of the private Sparkle Resort, and was reborn, finally completing (and expanding) the vision he had so long ago.
