The Two Colors Memorial (named after the lyric "there, are, two colors in my head" from the song Everything In Its Right Place by multi-genre rock band Radiohead) is a memorial atop the surface of Nebulus, within its Light Blue District; with a fountain on the actual ground, and the memorial itself being two Temples with statues atop a cloud above the fountain. It is usually referred to as "Two Colors" instead of the full name.

The memorial itself exists as a general honoring ground for the Black Starwalkers as a group, specifically their past, with both parts of the memorial representing different parts of it. The memorial is laden with symbolism that references the dual nature of the past and or actions of the Black Starwalkers (including the name), embodying that duality within spiritual, philosophical, and psychological lens within its design, striving to be a place of reflection for the history of the group for now and for years to come.

Its initial concept was created by getplayerhead.sh?ThatDude37&16.png ThatDude37, but was revised and heavily expanded upon by getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT, with him taking direct inspiration from the September 11th Memorial, specifically the Reflecting Pools, where he wanted to make a memorial that reflected on the group's past similar to it. During the process, getplayerhead.sh?Ervoss&16.png Ervoss and getplayerhead.sh?ThatDude37&16.png ThatDude37 additionally heavily contributed to help getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT sculpt the design of the memorial into what it is today.

It is currently under construction. It is owned by getplayerhead.sh?ThatDude37&16.png ThatDude37 and getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT directly, alongside being owned by the Black Starwalkers as an entity itself.

Below is a in-depth explanation of the structures and symbolism involved in the multiple parts of the Two Colors memorial, and can also serve as a sort of "virtual tour" of the memorial.

General Duality Themeing

Within this specific summary, a mention will be given to theme that prevails within all aspects of the memorial: that of duality. Duality is the core part of what the Two Colors Memorial represents (it's even in the name), and is a part of nearly every aspect of the memorial in its totality.

Specifically within the memorial, there are three general schools of dualities represented altogether within the memorial, them being:

Additional Images Showing the Memorial

The Fountain

The Fountain (and the hill it stands upon) is the bottom most point of the Two Colors Memorial.

Structure

The Fountain is a simple structure, consisting of greyish tones of stone bricks and stone slabs, four distinct poles with beacons atop them, an internal pool split between lapis and redstone blocks, an internal spire that reaches high up, and two areas of signs.

The front area of signs lists the name of the memorial, and song reference within the name, alongside a little explanation of what the memorial is about:

  • "Above is a cloud with two temples, dedicated to our wonderful group. Long live... the Black Starwalkers."

The back area of signs lists the contributors within the memorial, which can be seen on this page in the Contributors section.

Symbolism

The symbolism behind the fountain is subtle but noticeable to those with a keen eye:

  • The Grayish tones represent the medium between the two temples' colors, and being the inbetween
  • The four poles with beacons represent the four distinct "Eras" of the Black Starwalkers' history (at the time of creation)
  • The internal pool split between lapis and redstone blocks; lapis representing the good side of the duology, and redstone representing the bad
  • The internal spire reaches (at it's tip) exactly at y107, a representation of the founding date of the Black Starwalkers: July 10th, 7/10 or 10/7.

The Cloud

The Cloud is the middle point within the Two Colors Memorial, being the place where the two Temples and their statues reside atop.

Structure

The Cloud is a simple structure, consisting of a cloud split between white and grey.

Symbolism

The symbolism behind the Cloud is extremely noticeable, minus a small detail:

  • The internal split of the Cloud between white and grey is that of duality; the white representing the good side of the duology, and grey representing the bad
  • The Cloud, at it's bottom most point, has a y level of exactly 148, a representation of the founding date of Nebulus: August 14th, 8/14 or 14/8.

The Temples

Atop the Cloud are two distinct buildings with statues atop them, the Temple of Peace (white/off-white, blue), and the Temple of War (dark brown, black, orange, and red), both serving as contrasts and contemporaries to each other.

Going up the three steps to the path inbetween the two temples, both Temples have a layer of gold blocks laid at the top-most ring of the structure. On the sides of each part of the Temple are lampposts, with Sea Lanterns/End Rods and Glowstone/Nether Brick Fences for each corresponding temple.

The inbetween path itself is a mixture of white colored materials, grey colored materials, and dark colored materials, connecting the two temples directly through a shared path between them.

The Temple of Peace

Structure

The Temple of Peace is a medium sized structure with a large statue atop of it, multiple detailed sides, and an internal room that contains a small garden, and three walls of signs. The structure itself has a design based off of traditional Greco-Roman architecture, specifically the general type most often seen within the iconic Athenian Acropolis.

External

Across the outside of it are many armor stands with alternating armor (varying between most commonly iron and gold, to a few diamond, white-dyed leather, and enchanted diamond armors) holding tools (of their types) such as pickaxes and shovels, all orchestrated into specific poses: which is based off of the practice of Pedimental sculpture used within places like the Parthenon and the Temple of Zeus in Olympia; but designed to be across the entire back and sides of the Temple of Peace rather than within the tympanum slightly above the face of the back or front.

Below are images of each side of the Temple of Peace other than its front, known as "The Three Expressive Faces," each name being a Latin word for what they represent, fitting with the Greco-Roman aesthetic used by the Temple of Peace:

The Three Expressive Faces

Waterfalls (and water in general) are a core part of the Temple of Peace, with the inside of the Temple containing a small garden of White Tulips surrounded by raining water, along with the sides having waterfalls falling within the sides of the Temple of Peace itself. Atop of the Temple is a small garden where its statue stands atop, standing within a small pool with lily pads that is surrounded by the same white tulips. This small pool, and the internal waterfalls, were specifically designed based off of the September 11th Memorial's Reflecting Pools.

The Statue atop the Temple of Peace is a player with a white skin with a suit of diamond armor, holding out a poppy. The player the statue represents additionally has a diamond sword holstered on their back, and is holding a Black Starwalkers shield in their other hand.

Internal

Within the Temple of Peace there are three sections of sign: the left, center, and right sections.

  • The left section of signs serves as an introduction speech as to what the Temple of Peace exists for:
    • "Welcome to the Temple of Peace within the Two Colors Memorial. This is meant to be a place of peace and recollection of the BSW's past: looking back on times past with happiness and nostalgia, and thinking of the good of the years that have passed us by. This memorial is meant for the BSW mainly, but non-members are free to find peace and acceptance here. We all have something. Be free."
  • The center section of signs, named "Souls From Times Past: Those Notable Whom We Miss", is a wall of former members of the Black Starwalkers whom are missed by those still in the group that remember them during their time in the group. Next to the named sign is a sign with a song lyric: "It's nothin worth me saying aloud: so then why do I seem to: need to?" Below is the list of members from left to right:
    • d------n (redacted name)
      • Included is: "Now you're just somebody that I used to know."
    • r---------m (redacted name)
      • Included is: "I don't miss who you are: I miss who you were"
    • getplayerhead.sh?koszarka&16.png koszarka
    • getplayerhead.sh?Revcha&16.png Revcha

    • getplayerhead.sh?ZeroDouble&16.png ZeroDouble
    • F----------n (redacted name)
      • Included is: "All we ask is trust: All we got is us: loyalty"
    • getplayerhead.sh?spacecool&16.png spacecool
    • Z------_ (redacted name)
      • Included is: "You coward, you servant, YOU BLIND MAN!"
    • getplayerhead.sh?BuffaloBom&16.png BuffaloBom
    • getplayerhead.sh?Cldi&16.png Cldi
      • Included is: "Father, forgive them, for they no not what they do."
    • getplayerhead.sh?Zalinkie&16.png Zalinkie
  • The right section of signs serves as a speech dedicated to the group and its member-base, past and present:
    • "This wall of signs is dedicated to the numerous members of the Black Starwalkers, both past and present, both rich and poor, both Generals and the workers, both those vocal and those mute, both the wise and the rash, both young and old, all that are impaired in their own ways, all from all walks of life, all from all countries or faith or ideology... the people that are those who believe in what we represent: all of those who have fought for our continued survival, and all who benefit from it... to you I say: Thank you. - getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT"

Symbolism

The symbolism behind the Temple of Peace ranges from obvious to extremely niche:

  • The most obvious is the white look of the entire structure, from the quartz of the Temple itself, to the color of the statue's skin: it is a representation of the good qualities of the duality, of purity, and of good itself
  • Water, a core part of the Temple of Peace, represents purity and peace and washing the past clean of its true past and ills, creating a sanitized, nostalgically blind past that is longed for
    • The internal garden has a mirroring effect where you can look into it and see multiple versions of the garden below it: this exists as a representation of the saying "Peace is not a passive state; it is a conscious building of harmony, layer by layer"
    • The water pool that the statue sits in is a representation of certain good qualities: showing the statue standing within water, and representing its involvement in healing and peace
  • The White Tulips present across the Temple of Peace are representations of Peace and Forgiveness itself, and are in-game parallels to the real-life use of White Tulips and Peace Lillies as flowers embodying the aforementioned qualities
  • With the armor stands:
    • The various qualities of armor within the faces of the Temple are a representation of the general past and present member-base of the Black Starwalkers, representing all ranging from the least important to those who shaped the group forever (from white-dyed leather to enchanted diamond)
    • The things they are holding are representing the best attributes of and the idealized version of the Black Starwalkers without conflict: a group of resource gatherers, creators, designers, builders, engineers, and peacekeepers
      • Aedificatores, the Western Face, directly represents the building side of the group, with the armor stands holding blocks of dirt/grass, oak planks/cobblestone, wool/glass, and brick/mossy cobblestone
      • Machinatores, the Eastern Face, directly represents the engineering side of the group, with the armor stands holding an observer/redstone, a chest minecart/sign, a lever/sticky piston, and a redstone repeater/hopper
      • Fraternitas, the Southern Face, directly represents the group as a whole's general practices, with the armor stands holding a collective total of:
        • flowers (specifically a poppy/oxeye daisy, and a dandelion/white tulip), representing peace and forgiveness
        • an iron pick and coal ore, representing efficiency in mining
        • an iron shovel and sand, representing efficiency in shoveling
        • a golden axe and an oak log, representing efficiency in deforesting
        • a golden hoe and a hay bale, representing efficiency in agriculture
        • an iron ingot, gold block, diamond, and emerald block, representing efficiency in economy/important resource gain
        • a stick and map, and a bottle o' enchanting and an enchanted book, representing efficiency in high level resources
  • The torches are representations of light: glistening the Temple of Peace and representing the vibrance and happiness nostalgia imbues upon recollection
  • The Statue atop the Temple of Peace is a representation of the good side of the duality within the Black Starwalkers (as shown by the shield): showing that while the player it represents has the ability to choose both peace and war with the poppy and sword in their possession, that they choose peace instead of war
    • At night, the poppy glows in the night sky, emphasizing the importance of peace
    • Since both statues have these two same items, it also represents that both players are the same person, but have chosen different outcomes

Internal specific:

  • The redacted names within the Souls From Times Past Wall are all people who were once loved/liked within the group's history, but left through bad circumstances/actions that have since tarnished the group's love for them
    • It's very easy to figure out who these people are as long as you know the Black Starwalkers' history, but their names are not listed for fear of sparking drama, controversy, or problems from the people in question or their assocations
    • The majority of song lyrics beneath the redacted names represent the group's feelings on them as people following their departure, and specific circumstances surrounding it: such as remembering someone who used to be very close but is now gone, someone who radically changed and became a different person, someone who was trusted and broke their loyalty through a heinous action, and someone who left through cowardice
      • The only exception to this is getplayerhead.sh?Cldi&16.png Cldi's quote, which is not a music quote at all, and is attributed to a non-redacted username. It is in reference to the circumstances surrounding his departure as well, but at the fault of the group itself rather than the player in question
  • The Speech that is dedicated to the members of the Black Starwalkers, past and present, is a representation of the group across all time that it exists, from when it starts into the unknown future, alongside embodying all human aspects that encompass the group's identity

References

The Temple of Peace has multiple references to music (and one non-musical reference) within it, keeping up with the song reference motif used within the Black Starwalkers and their projects. Below is a list of all references used throughout the Temple:

The Temple of War

Structure

The Temple of War is a medium sized structure with a large statue atop of it, multiple undetailed sides, and an internal room that contains a small "garden," and three walls of signs. The structure itself has a design based off of traditional Mayan and Aztec architecture, specifically the general type most often seen within the iconic Temple of Kukulcan within the Mayan City of Chichen Itza.

External

Across the outside of it are two distinct layers, an upper and lower layer. Both layers prominently display the color red, black glazed terracotta (which has red elements), and red nether brick, all of which's colors are inspired by and are representations of the blood shed during human sacrifice in both Maya and Aztec cultures, in combination with the Mesoamerican architectural style. On the corners of the Temple of War are multiple cressets of fire, adorning the corners and general dark theme of the Temple of War.

Lavafalls (and lava in general) are a core part of the Temple of War, with the inside of the Temple containing a small "garden" of Nether Wart surrounded by raining lava. Atop of the Temple is a small enclosed pit where its statue stands atop, standing within a small lava pool, surrounded by walls, and a narrow open air ceiling. This small pool, and the internal lavafalls, were specifically designed as a mirror to the Temple of Peace's.

The Statue atop the Temple of War is a player with a black skin with a suit of diamond armor, holding out a diamond sword. The player the statue represents additionally has a poppy holstered on their back, and is holding a Black Starwalkers shield in their other hand.

Internal

Within the Temple of Peace there are three sections of sign: the right, center, and left sections, mirroring the Temple of Peace's sign placements.

  • The right section of signs serves as an introduction speech as to what the Temple of War exists for:
    • "Welcome to the Temple of War within the Two Colors Memorial. This is meant to be a place of realism within recollection of the BSW's past: looking back on times past as how they actually were: for all of their flaws, reflecting on the lesson those scars teach us, and the fact that for the past we tend to view with rose-tinted glasses: the tint is masking the truth. For all non-BSW: view the past as it WAS."
  • The center section of signs, named "Wall of Shame: For the state will always suffer", is a wall of battles, wars, and conflicts the Black Starwalkers have been involved within. Next to the named sign is a sign with a song lyric: "For people and things that went before: I'll often think about them" Below is the list of conflicts from left to right:
  • The left section of signs serves as a speech dedicated to everything that the group would rather forget:
    • "This wall of signs is dedicated to all that we would rather forget. To the wars fought, the battles lost, the victories that came at a cost, to the enemies who stood against us, to those whom stood beside us, only to turn away, to the traitors, the rivals, the fallen, and the forgotten, to the words spoken in anger, and the promises broken, to those wronged, and those that wronged, to the innocent who suffered, and the guilty left free: we remember. Not for glory, nor excuse, nor success, nor failure: but for truth. - getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT"

Symbolism

The symbolism behind the Temple of War ranges from obvious to extremely niche:

  • The most obvious is the dark look of the entire structure, from the nether brick of the Temple itself, to the black color of the statue's skin: it is a representation of the bad qualities of the duality, of impurity, and of evil itself
  • Lava, a core part of the Temple of War, represents impurity and conflict that leaves the past viewable in its true, stained form, creating an uncomfortable, unwanted, but necessary and needed past that deserves to be remembered
    • The internal "garden" with lavafalls is walled off and uncomfortably close: this exists as a representation of the saying "The walls of sorrow close in, leaving no room to breathe"
      • The Nether Wart present within the internal "garden", is a direct opposite to the White Tulips within the Temple of Peace, and represent the anger that breeds from conflict
    • The lava pool that the statue sits in is a direct opposite to that of the Temple of Peace: showing the statue standing within lava, and representing its involvement in pain and conflict
  • The Temple of War deliberately does not have any armor stands, contrasting the Temple of Peace immensely: the lack of armor stands represents that, regardless of importance within the group, darkness and pain from conflict swallows us all equally
  • The redstone torches are representations of darkness: glistening the Temple of War and representing the dim and uncomfortable truth that the real past imbues upon recollection
  • The Statue atop the Temple of War is a representation of the bad side of the duality within the Black Starwalkers (as shown by the shield): showing that while the player it represents has the ability to choose both peace and war with the poppy and sword in their possession, that they choose war instead of peace
    • At night, the sword glows in the night sky, emphasizing the importance of war
      • The top of the held sword, at y212, is a reference to one of the last days before one of the most devastating group conflicts, the Espionage Conflict, and a day before a section of Nebulus rushed to completion during said conflict was started, The Great Annihilator: February 12th, 2026, 2/12.
    • Since both statues have these two same items, it also represents that both players are the same person, but have chosen different outcomes

Internal specific:

  • The red colored conflicts (stylized as Underlined within the wiki page) within the Wall of Shame Wall are all the important/era-defining conflicts across the group's history: lasting long and profoundly changing the group as they experienced them
  • The Speech that is dedicated to all that the Black Starwalkers would rather forget is a representation of the group's worst moments, worst decisions, worst members, and times of pain and stress across its existence, alongside embodying a desire, that despite how bad these things are, that they be remembered regardless
