The Black Starwalkers (also referred to as the BSW or the Starwalkers) are a friendly isolationist group. The group's name, the Black Starwalkers, is a reference to the Radiohead song Black Star, off of the Bends, and the joke character from DELTARUNE, the Original Starwalker. They are a private group, and only people allowed in by getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT are part of the group. The Black Starwalkers are considered a "peaceful, until threatened" group.

They're widely known for their ginormous sprawling underground settlement; Nebulus, and their giant bio-dome settlement in the sea; Echoes. They are also known for the Black Starwalkers Collection, a successor project to the Coefficiency Literature Protection Program. The program collects and archives all kinds of literature and map art.

About Us

Here's a bit about us: what we do and like to work on, and how the group fully works. Please look out for Footnotes, they explain more about certain things for each section!

Who are the BSW?

A semi-successor group to the fallen Coefficiency, the Black Starwalkers were founded as a group when getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT escaped the Undercroft on July 10th, 2024, after he returned from a hiatus following the Coefficiency's dissolution nine months earlier. The Black Starwalkers were founded as basically a group of bodyguards for getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT; people to protect him from getplayerhead.sh?GunCat2&16.png GunCat2's persecution of him.

Soon after it started however, it quickly evolved into a brotherhood of people who found friendship and comradery in one another, and continues to be so to this day. getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT, the Black Starwalkers' founder and leader, was carrying over an idea of a settlement that had died in every attempt he had tried to make it in before[1]: a ginormous, self-sustaining, interconnected underground settlement. Polaris was initially meant to be this exact idea getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT had wanted, but less than a month after it's founding, it was raided, and all hopes were lost. getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT decided to try this dream one more time, founding Nebulus. Nebulus has since fulfilled and continues to fulfill the idea he has had, with many sections being added onto it, and many players sharing the idea of this gorgeous settlement.

The Black Starwalkers as a group have a shared goal of creating amazing structures, ginormous settlements, and huge mega-project bases, who hope to one day be finally respected by the MCO Community for their amazing work, and be an inspiration for future players on MCO. Here are our settlements:

Settlements:

Footnotes

[1] Those initial attempts being Brikhelm, Smältfell.

Hierarchy

The Black Starwalkers have a strict three role society within it, those being:

  • The Leader and Founder, getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT[2]
  • Generals (right-hand men, second in command)
  • Members (everyone else)

Footnotes

[2] Being the Leader is a fixed position, and will only ever be within getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT's hands.

Generals

Generals are people that getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT has appointed to be his right-hand men, those second in command. The Black Starwalkers as a group is autocratic, meaning that getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT has sole power over the group and it's decision making, but he decided that he needed people to speak to regarding difficult decisions in order to get more advice and perspectives regarding things.

Becoming a General

In order for a normal member to become a General, they need to have been a part of the Black Starwalkers for two months, and within that two months have:

  • done large amounts of work / shown tremendous work ethic
  • actively engaged with the community of the BSW
  • have proven they can lead other members
  • have proven they can handle responsibilities greater than those of normal members
  • and have shown a desire to take on the mantle of General
Elections

Generals being put into power are usually a community event[3] within the Black Starwalkers, with getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT and the existing Generals usually picking two candidates[4] for the position, both fitting the previous guidelines laid out. The day the candidates are publicly listed is usually the last day of the month, and upon receiving their nomination as candidates, they will begin their Campaign Season over the course of the following month.

A Campaign Season lasts exactly half a month, or 15 days long. Within this Campaign Season, candidates are urged to convince the members, and Generals of the Black Starwalkers, why they should be elected to be a General. This can be by promoting promises as a second in command of the group, showing off ideas for sections of Settlements/Settlements, or by just showing that they have the drive to get tons of work done.[5]

15 days after the initial start of the Campaign Season, it ends at exactly 11:59 PM EST on the 15th day. At exactly 12:00 AM, the Voting Day is started[6], and all members[7] other than the Candidates vote for who they want in a private system from 12 AM to 11:59 PM[8]. getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT is the only person who does not vote for anyone as that would mean the leader of the group has a favorite, which goes against the fact that he's the leader and runs the group. The result process is extremely simple, a tally count of how many votes each person received is stated, and whoever wins becomes a General[9]. If the other candidate wishes to still be General, another two months must past before another election can pass, with the same prerequisites.

Footnotes

[3] If the group has very little members within it, Candidates for Generals are not usually picked; and if they are, it becomes more of a private voting event reserved for Generals only.

[4] The traditional number of candidates nominated are two, but there is no rule preventing three or more from being picked. It just simply hasn't happened yet.

[5] Using as position as a Candidate to be General to bash other Candidates for their ideas, for their character, or for any other reason, is strictly prohibited. There are two strikes for Candidates if they do so, the first is a warning strike, and the second removes their chances to be General both for that election season and for possible future ones.

[6] A good way to explain this would be like if the Candidates got publicly listed on November 30th, their campaigns last from December 1st, 12 AM EST to December 15th, 11:59 PM EST, and voting would take place on the entire day of December 16th.

[7] Voting is mandatory within Election Season, and a failure to vote is seen as breaking Rule 4 of the Code.

[8] The voting season can also end early if all votes are collected before 11:59 PM.

[9] In the event of extreme circumstances, such as a battle or a war taking place on the day of the election, mass departure of members from the BSW, or an event that shakes the Black Starwalkers to their core, both candidates are appointed Generals in these times of crisis.

Powers within the BSW

When elected, Generals are expected to familiarize themselves with existing Generals, and their new powers within the group Those powers being:

  • Representation
    • Generals represent and lead the Black Starwalkers as their higherups when getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT is unavailable to, and also represent them alongside him
  • Proxy Leaders
    • Generals lead other members of the Black Starwalkers under getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT's wishes, and act on his behalf when he is unavailable to
  • Application Evaluation
    • Generals evaluate applications to the Black Starwalkers of players who want to be members
  • Consultants
    • Generals are directly consulted by getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT about decisions regarding members, alliances, enemies, settlements, builds, and whatnot
      • This usually leads to Generals most often then not being Chief Co-Architects regarding Settlements and sections of Settlements
  • Access to Archives
    • Generals get automatic access to older discord channels regarding past events from previous eras, discussions about now finished settlements/sections, or demotion processes to name a few
Demotion/Resigning

Interestingly, the position of General is not permanent: Generals can be demoted or resign from the position.

Demotion usually occurs when:

  • There are multiple offenses of a General breaking the rules
  • If a General acts in a way that is not good representation for the Black Starwalkers
  • or due to extreme inactivity

There are two types of Demotion processes: Breaching Processes and Inactivity Processes.

Breaching: Breaching Demotion as a process is usually held by getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT and the other Generals. Within the process, getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT and the other Generals monitor the offending General in question over the course of a month to get a proper read on how many offenses they commit. If they break the rules or act in a way that is bad representation for the Black Starwalkers three times, they will then be publicly demoted for their actions. Breaching Demoted players can still be picked for General in future Elections.[10]

Inactivity: Inactivity Demotion is exactly as it sounds, and is the process when a General specifically breaks Rule 4 of the Code. Upon a month having past since their last bit of activity, Generals are spoken to and reminded of their importance within the group. If they then do not become active again within the next week afterwards, these Generals most often then not are left within a Temporary Demotion state[11], but upon proving they are active again for at least a week straight, instantly regain their position and powers. If a Temporarily Demoted General is inactive for two more months, they are completely removed from the position and are usually referred to as a Legacy member[12].

Resignation: Resignation usually occurs with a General's desire to leave the group, leave MCO, or just disliking the responsibilities they have. Resignation has no proper process compared to Breaching or Inactivity Demotion processes, but the resigning General in question is implored to reconsider and return to the group's higher ranks. If this fails, and the resigning General stays true to their goal, they will be resigned, and no public notice will be made.

Inactivity Demoted or Resigned Former Generals can easily retake their positions without election if they prove they can be active for at least a month, since if they are trusted well enough / showed they deserved their position initially, it'd make sense to give them their position back.

Footnotes

[10] Generals demoted within a Breaching Process are unlikely to reobtain their positions, but in order to, they'd need to follow the same qualifications as the initial election prerequisites, but over four months instead of two.

[11] Temporary Demoted / Temporarily Stepped Down Generals are players within a state where they do not have the powers of a General anymore, but can still retain the original title of General if they show activity.

[12] Legacy Members are players with a distinction that they were once so important that they previously held the General position. Being a Legacy Member is one of the few exceptions that causes players to never be kicked from the Black Starwalkers for inactivity: that if a player influenced the future of the group and were that important of a member, they get to stay within it until they break another rule, betray the group, or leave it outright.

Members

Members are the backbone of the Black Starwalkers. They are an incredible work force, and an army to be reckoned with. They represent the whole of the Black Starwalkers. There's nothing to special to note about Members in particular other than that they are usually laborers.

The Code

Being a part of the Black Starwalkers mainly means that you agree to four rules, also known as "the Code" of the Black Starwalkers. This segment should serve as a guide for what to follow for people who wish to join, and current members alike, along with showing the MCO community as a whole how we work.

  1. Stay Neutral
    • Are there people fighting? Is there a battle currently happening that has no attachment to us? Is there a series of insults going around? We're staying out of it!
    • The whole point of this rule is to make sure our group does not get involved in events that don't concern us, whether it be a conflict/war or just chat arguing with each other.[13]
  2. Stay Loyal
    • Stay within the Black Starwalkers' settlements and interests, at all times!
    • We as a group expect loyalty, devotion, and dedication[14] from our members, to us as a group, and to our projects. This allows work to actually be done on important things that matter, it fosters a sense of community, and keeps the group active. With this, although we dislike PVP, members need to be willing to fight for us if we are ever under attack.
  3. Stay Peaceful
    • When we do interact with the MCO community, don't fight anyone!
    • This rule basically boils down to two things: don't headhunt or attack players outside of the group's request. We try to stay isolated from conflict, and a member creating conflict for no reason with someone puts us diplomatically in a bad spot.
  4. Stay Active
    • When a part of the Black Starwalkers, you must always be busy!
    • We as a group highly respect work ethic within our members, to the point in which some have been rewarded with more power within the group due to their massive contributions. We hate inactivity to our core.
    • If a member does not work on a Black Starwalkers project/request within a month, they are then implored to return to the group to work. If two months goes by, they are unceremoniously removed[15].

These rules must be strictly followed in order to create the brotherhood the Black Starwalkers are, and the amazing work that comes out of them! If there are any questions for further elaboration about these rules, please speak to getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT or one of the Generals.

Footnotes

[13] Free speech and opinions on anything are allowed within the Black Starwalkers as a group, but speaking about the Black Starwalkers HATE [person/group] in public circles, regardless of whether the information is true or not, is strictly prohibited. We try to keep to ourselves.

[14] Although not against any rules, it is highly discouraged to be within another group / another settlement when within the Black Starwalkers, as the group then feels as if it's being put on the back end when someone is working on something else. Personal projects and settlements are allowed, but not at the cost of needed activity within the group's orders being denied / ignored.

[15] The only exceptions to this are for members who have explained and approved absences (such as still having a desire to work with us but they have to work overtime for a month), and extremely important members who no longer play (Inactivity Demoted / Resigned Generals).

The Naming Scheme

Everything related to the Black Starwalkers, even the name of their group and their settlements, are based on songs, albums, or artists/bands. The reasoning for this mainly boiled down to two reasons:

The first was that getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT had just created his RateYourMusic page earlier that year, and wanted to incorporate his love of all kinds of music into his new group.

The second was that getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT wanted something unique from his previous naming scheme of Norse inspired names for the Coefficiency's settlements, and thought music would be a cool inspiration to use.

Incorporation Policy

Although the Black Starwalkers tends to dislike acquiring members who already are in towns or groups, and dislike acquiring towns altogether, it's not necessarily against the rules. Some members who have a desire to bring their towns into the Black Starwalkers need to understand the Incorporation Policy, a Policy designed to allow the town to flourish within the group.

There's officially two types of Incorporation Policies, Standard Incorporation and Full Acquisition Incorporation.

Standard Incorporation: Standard Incorporation is by far the most common form of Incorporation, and the one used when trying to bring a member's settlement under the group's banner. Here is the Standard Incorporation Policy's rules:

  • Permissions
    • By Incorporating a town into the Black Starwalkers, the leader getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT and Generals automatically get permissions to it
      • (we barely bother you anyway, this is more of a formality for the group to "own" the town)
  • Control
    • The person who owns the town still owns it, and retains control to everything within the town as well
  • Work Force
    • The owner of the town can choose who they wish to come and work with them on the town, BSW or not, but usually Incorporation leans more towards receiving help from the BSW
  • Banner
    • Every Incorporated town must have a BSW style banner, regardless of whether or not they already have an official flag. If they do already have an official flag, the BSW variant flag must become either it's primary flag, or an official flag on the same level as the standard one
  • Incentive
    • There must be an incentive of some kind for the town to be incorporated, rather than just "I want this to be a BSW town!" The group and the town owner must both benefit from this Incorporation in some way, whether it be resources, or new members for the group, and possibly activity, or time being put into the town for the owner. If there is no incentive, the town will likely be denied Incorporation.

Full Acquisition Incorporation: Full Acquisition Incorporation is the least common type of Incorporation, and pretty much is just when the BSW purchases a town to become one of their settlements. Within Full Acquisition Incorporation Policy, the Policy is traditionally different than the Standard one, seeing as permissions were purchased by the group itself, it's owned solely by the group, and not a particular member. There is an option in which original members of the town retain permissions if they ever choose to work on it again, but it has yet to be implemented, as no town has been purchased by the BSW yet.

History

This is a timeline of every single event in the history of the Black Starwalkers. The "Era System" is a way the history of the Black Starwalkers is split into different periods of time. An Era starts mainly due to a single, or series of major events happening / major players joining or leaving the group. The system is denoted by getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT himself, and is based on how he feels about the group's activity and other factors. The longest era was The Second Era, and the current one era is The Third Era.

The First Era

The Beginning

Following the dissolution of the Coefficiency on October 5th, 2023, getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT left MinecraftOnline for multiple months, simply due to a lack of drive. When he returned on July 9th, 2024, getplayerhead.sh?GunCat2&16.png GunCat2 was already waiting for him in the Undercroft, and so getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT hightailed it out of there.

From July 9th, 2024, to the early hours of July 10th, 2024, getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT was wandering around, using /wilderness to try and find new land to make a new base in. He got the idea of coming up with a group, and decided to see which players online would be great new members. He contacted getplayerhead.sh?sanixdrill&16.png sanixdrill, and the two decided on being partners.

The Black Starwalkers were always planned to be named after the stars and cosmos. They had many different name ideas before settling on the Black Starwalkers. They were:

  • The Starmen (a reference to a David Bowie song)
  • The Warriors of the Cosmos / The Cosmic Warriors
  • The Relics of the Nebulae

and finally,

  • the Black Stars

The name of the Black Stars was chosen by getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT, before he changed it to the Black Starwalkers to make it sound cooler. Unaware to him, and as getplayerhead.sh?sanixdrill&16.png sanixdrill pointed out later, he unknowingly referenced the DELTARUNE joke character, the Original Starwalker. getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT was fine with it, and kept the name as it was.

The Raid of Polaris

August 6th, 2024:

  • Some time on August 6th, 2024, getplayerhead.sh?GunCat2&16.png GunCat2 discovered Polaris, and proceeded to raid it. No Black Starwalker member was online, and when they came back they noticed what had occurred.

The Founding and Raid of Nebulus

August 14th, 2024:

  • Very early into the morning, and upon discovering an empty ravine whilst digging through a cave system getplayerhead.sh?sanixdrill&16.png sanixdrill found, getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT had the brilliant idea of creating an entire base centered around that ravine. An interconnected town, all connected via floors and sections of a ravine. Shortly after this getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT and getplayerhead.sh?sanixdrill&16.png sanixdrill officially found Nebulus. They begin working on what would later be known as Nebulus Central, first by constructing it's main iconic bridge.
  • getplayerhead.sh?MrClownPierce&16.png MrClownPierce, getplayerhead.sh?Ervoss&16.png Ervoss, and getplayerhead.sh?pilonpl&16.png pilonpl move to Nebulus.
  • getplayerhead.sh?crogpot&16.png crogpot is kicked from the Black Starwalkers for espionage.
  • On August 14th, 2024, getplayerhead.sh?GunCat2&16.png GunCat2 discovered Nebulus via coordinates given by getplayerhead.sh?crogpot&16.png crogpot, and proceeded to play mind games with the group. The Black Starwalkers were in disarray, not fully sure what to do, as getplayerhead.sh?GunCat2&16.png GunCat2 wasn't killing them, but rather, publicly leaking the coordinates for people to show up and visit the place.

August 15th - August 23rd, 2024:

  • For nine days after he permanently quit MCO, getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT continued to attempt to lead the group through it, deciding to continue building Nebulus, and pray that the appeal sent to the admins would ban those who were trying to doxx him. That appeal never happened, as no admin ever responded, leaving the group to lose hope.
  • Following this, and getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT forcing anything MCO related out of his life, the group split apart, and it's members went their separate ways, but always found ways to connect with each other.
    • getplayerhead.sh?sanixdrill&16.png sanixdrill later became the first resident, and current mayor of Aether City, and also became the mayor of Broncoford. He also joined the United Republics of Freedonia, and became it's vice president.
    • getplayerhead.sh?Ervoss&16.png Ervoss constructed a pathway to the right of the super-smelter area in Nebulus Central, that leads down to a currently unfinished area. Way later after this, he began working with getplayerhead.sh?sanixdrill&16.png sanixdrill to become town staff of Aether City. Previous to that, he was playing with an extremely low profile, presumably working on his Keep.
    • getplayerhead.sh?pilonpl&16.png pilonpl became inactive during the raid on Nebulus, and hasn't logged back onto MCO since.
    • getplayerhead.sh?MrClownPierce&16.png MrClownPierce constructed the Music Room in Nebulus. Other than that, he was playing with an extremely low profile, and almost anything he's done from mid-August 2024 to late October 2024 has not been known or really recorded anywhere.

The Second Era

The Resurgence

September 26th - October 6th, 2024:

  • Following a surprise message from getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT asking his former brothers-in-arms how MCO has been, a discussion of the future of the Black Starwalkers emerged. The two senior members, getplayerhead.sh?sanixdrill&16.png sanixdrill and getplayerhead.sh?Ervoss&16.png Ervoss debated with each other and getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT about what to do regarding plans to potentially continue the goals of the Black Starwalkers.
  • It was ultimately decided to continue the group as it is, but with getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT not joining MCO again for the time being in order to keep the group safe, and for him to not be threatened off again.

October 6th, 2024:

  • Following the newly made decision for the future of the Black Starwalkers, getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT creates the "General" role for members of the Black Starwalkers who are higher up in the hierarchy, members who can act and make orders on behalf of getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT.
  • getplayerhead.sh?sanixdrill&16.png sanixdrill and getplayerhead.sh?Ervoss&16.png Ervoss, the two most active and the original members of the Black Starwalkers, are appointed to be Generals, so they can command the group on behalf of getplayerhead.sh?ZJTrayGamingYT&16.png ZJTrayGamingYT's absence from playing.
