History
The End for many years has been the final frontier for colonists in Freedonia. When the outer islands were first discovered beyond the Dragon's Nest, there was a massive rush to plunge the abandoned End Cities for their treasure. After this initial wave though, the lands were mostly left forgotten once more, with little mind paid to the barren wasteland. Very few projects sprung over for the first few years, with the Dragon's Nest overhaul and the Shulker Ranch being the only notable examples. In the preceding months, the Caretakers of MOON had worked with the long-time natives of Chala Kii to open the portal at the Cascadian Gateway. The alliance forged ahead with Project Dusk, hoping to encourage other colonizers to help settle The End. Purgatory, as apart of Phase I, was the first official settlement to be built in the dimension. Despite significant delays to progress, Phase II was later completed with the construction of the Lonesome Road, providing a direct connection to the future site of Cascadia. With the final phase in the crosshairs, ScarClaw72 and SadieSadie began construction on Cascadia.
Layout
- Cascadia is primarily set on a large terraformed island near the northern world border of The End. It is split into clear districts and zones, each serving a different purpose and bringing to life the true beauty of the desolate wastes.
Entrance
- At the end of the Lonesome Road, a turn brings the travelers east. As you reach the end of the highway, it lowers into between the town hall and the residential district.
Town Hall
Farm Yards
- Located through the western exit of the Town Hall, the Farm Yards are a large field of various crop farms. Included is wheat, carrots, netherwart, and more. The farms are free for harvesting so long as they are replanted afterwards.
Endsurrection Memorial
- Paying tribute to the heroes who became wrapped up in the Endsurrection event. The defeat of EnderLordFlippeh is what reopened the veil to The End, and led to the discovery of the outer lands we now inhabit. Between those who found the strongholds, the armies who waged war, and the soul who put an end to EnderLordFlippeh- all are represented on the plaques within. In the center, a large dragon egg sits cradled on the cracked ground.
Residential District
- The residential district sits directly north of the Lonesome Road entrance and is where the inhabitants live. Most people who choose to build a home are not permanent residences, but instead use it as a foothold on the edge of the frontier. Downtown District
- The downtown district, aka the commercial district, is located in the heart of Cascadia and contains all non-residential facilities. This includes hotels, stores, restaurants, offices, and more.
Cascadia Markets
- North of downtown is the markets, where Freedonians can set up shops on the edge of the frontier.
End Ship Docks
- East of downtown are the docks for End Ship pilots. These mechanisms that were discovered by the first explorers have been commandeered by different merchants and traders. While the widespread access to Elytra has made individual transport easy, these vessels have proved more effective in the transfer of larger amounts of cargo than one single person could handle alone.
Observatory District
- Nestled on the northern stretch of the island, The Observatory is a End-City tower retrofitted with a large telescope. Given the abnormal astronomical structure of The End, different astronomers became interested in seeing what lied beyond the fractured world. Around The Observatory is various parks and low-profile structures, built with the interest of keeping light pollution to a minimum.
Twinstar Villas
- the Twin Star Villas are a proposed idea to build a resort on a figure-8 shaped island northwest of Cascadia proper. If approved, the build will construct two identical villa communities with towers center of each offering various amenities, potentially even gambling.
Northeast Island
- The Northeast Territory is the lower segment of an island across the Maryna Trench that was included in the original survey for Cascadia's construction. Currently undeveloped, the region will be used if the need for expansion arises.
